Trump’s border czar went on Fox News to announce huge changes coming to southern border

The dawn of a new era has begun. Trump’s team is in charge.

That’s why Trump’s border czar went on Fox News to announce these massive border control changes.

Tom Homan Announces Trump’s Executive Actions to Tighten Border Security

Tom Homan, former Acting Director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), made an appearance on Fox Business on Monday to discuss President Donald Trump’s recent executive actions focused on strengthening border security. During the interview on The Evening Edit, Homan provided insight into the key components of Trump’s plan and expressed concerns about how the media has largely ignored the growing threats linked to the border crisis, including the rise of human trafficking and terrorist activity.

When asked about President Trump’s executive orders aimed at tightening border security, Homan detailed several important elements of the plan. Notably, Trump is poised to end the practice of “catch and release” — a policy that allows individuals caught illegally crossing the border to be released into the U.S. while they await a court hearing. Additionally, Trump intends to end the abuse of the CBP One app, which has been used by some to submit fraudulent asylum claims.

Homan also highlighted Trump’s intent to classify Mexican drug cartels as terrorist organizations. He emphasized the significant role these cartels play not only in the narcotics crisis but also in the loss of American lives. “The drug cartels of Mexico k*lled more Americans than every terrorist organization that were combined,” Homan stated. He stressed that these steps are a critical part of Trump’s strategy to secure the border at an unprecedented level, signaling a shift from previous administration policies.

The Alarming Rise in Border Threats And How Trump Admin Will Fix It

Homan also laid out a disturbing picture of the current border situation, pointing to several alarming statistics. He mentioned a tragic record of over 4,000 deaths of migrants attempting to cross the border during the Biden administration. Moreover, Homan pointed to the catastrophic impact of fentanyl, a deadly opioid, which has resulted in over a quarter of a million American deaths due to drugs coming across the border.

One of the most troubling trends, according to Homan, is the rise in human trafficking. “We got over a 600% increase in s*x trafficking on women and children,” he said, further emphasizing the link between weak border enforcement and the surge in exploitation. Additionally, Homan cited a 3,500% increase in the number of individuals on the terrorist watchlist trying to enter the U.S. — an issue he argued has been largely overlooked in the media.

Homan compared the current situation with the progress made during Trump’s first term, praising the success of the administration’s border security policies. He pointed to the dramatic reduction in illegal crossings, noting that under Trump, “it was going to be graced on 90%.”

Homan suggested that such measures prevented countless crimes, including the trafficking of women and children, as well as saving lives by keeping fentanyl out of the U.S. “Secure borders save lives,” Homan remarked, underscoring the profound difference that strong border policies can make in terms of public safety and national security.

Throughout the interview, Homan expressed dissatisfaction with the mainstream media’s coverage of border security issues, especially in relation to fentanyl deaths and trafficking. While he acknowledged that Fox News has consistently reported on these topics, he criticized most other media outlets for neglecting to address the root causes of the fentanyl epidemic and the larger border crisis. “Not once have they spoken up about this out-of-control border,” Homan said, emphasizing that the media’s failure to connect the dots between illegal immigration and these deadly outcomes has allowed the crisis to go largely unreported.

Trump’s Vision for a New, Safe And Secure Border

On the same day, President Trump gave his inaugural speech in the Capitol Rotunda, marking the beginning of his second term. Trump proclaimed a new “golden age” for America, declaring his intent to undo many of the policies set by his predecessor, Joe Biden. As he took the oath of office to become the 47th president, Trump vowed to elevate the U.S. to new heights and restore the country’s standing on the world stage. Among his first actions will be issuing several executive orders, including the termination of catch and release, the reinstatement of the Remain in Mexico policy, and the declaration of a national emergency at the U.S.-Mexico border.

As Trump embarks on his second term, the focus on securing the nation’s borders appears to remain a top priority, with plans to address the challenges Homan highlighted, from illegal immigration and human trafficking to the crisis of fentanyl and other drugs flooding across the southern border.

Homan only scratched the surface of the ambitious plans for border security coming from the second Trump administration. It’s up to Trump and his allies to deliver on the border security and overall national security that they’ve been promising for months now. You can watch the inauguration speech below if you missed it.
