U.S. Senator lands in hot water with law enforcement after this video released (continued)

News Analysis

So the real question is if it’s even true that Sherrod Brown is as pro-Trump esque border security as he claims to be. Spoiler alert, he’s not. He has a long list of directly voting against anything Congress tried to produce in the way of addressing illegal immigration and the impact it has on American communities.

Back in August of 2022, Democrat Senator Sherrod Brown voted against a bill amendment that would’ve given Border Patrol at the southern border north of half a billion dollars to prevent drug proliferation by investing in all new technology and equipment for law enforcement trying their best to stop drugs from pouring into regions throughout the south.

Not only that, but the amendment failed because of his vote. He was the deciding vote as it would eventually fail to get the 51-49 majority it needed to be adopted by just one vote.

Furthermore, back in spring of 2021, the Ohio Democrat decided to vote “nay” on a bill amendment to give Border Patrol more than $300 million for new equipment to identify drugs that are being smuggled over the border.

Again, that amendment had a razor close vote and Brown’s “nay” vote was critical as it failed to be adopted by just a few votes in the upper chamber of Congress. So much for wanting to stop fentanyl from pouring over the southern border, huh?

The list of votes against securing the southern border goes on and on for Sherrod Brown. Back in 2019 he was literally a co-sponsor of the “End Mass Deportation Act,” which was designed to make Donald Trump’s executive order of expediting deporting some violent criminals illegal.

When there was a proposed bill change to make it illegal for any undocumented immigrants to receive benefits for American citizens only, such as Social Security, he voted against the amendment.

Brown was very vocal about being strongly against Donald Trump’s efforts to strengthen physical barrier support at the southern border with Mexico, saying that Donald Trump’s plans were “reckless and irresponsible.”
