The Bill Clinton Presidency was riddled with controversy. His scandals brought a ton of attention.
But Bill Clinton finally came clean in this huge admission.
Former Democrat President Bill Clinton is no stranger to controversy at all.
He and his wife Hillary were on the forefront of American politics for more than 20 years, and the American people saw them constantly shrouded in scandals.
There was the Monica Lewinsky scandal, Whitewater, Travelgate, Benghazi, the Clinton Foundation scandal… the list goes on and on.
The Clintons would never admit to many of the mistakes they’ve made over the years, especially not Hillary Clinton.
Bill, on the other hand, is seemingly opening up in his older years. And he just admitted to a mistake that Americans never thought he’d ever come clean about.
Recently, the former Democrat President admitted to the big mistakes he made regarding international relations with Ukraine and Russia.
Clinton said that he feels responsible for the way Ukraine has been attacked by Russia because he got Ukraine to “give up their nuclear weapons.”
He said that he doesn’t think Russia would be invading Ukraine if Ukraine still had their nuclear weapons to defend themselves against threats like Russia.
“I feel a personal stake because I got them to agree to give up their nuclear weapons, and none of them believed that Russia would have pulled this stunt if Ukraine still had their weapons,” Bill Clinton admitted.
Clinton is referring to a 1994 deal that he was a major part of negotiating that required Ukraine to give up all of its nuclear weapons.
“I feel a personal stake because I got them to agree to give up their nuclear weapons. And none of them believe that Russia would have pulled this stunt if Ukraine still had their weapons,” Clinton said.
Bill Clinton’s comments are somewhat contradictory to how the Democrat Party continues to approach nuclear weapons and energy.
Democrats have become very hostile to any nuclear proliferation at all, including in the form of nuclear energy that has become a staple for any country trying to become energy independent.
So Bill Clinton saying he made the mistake in getting Ukraine to surrender their nuclear weapons isn’t what his former Party affiliation wants to hear.
Furthermore, he also alluded to a possible peace deal that could be made between Ukraine and Russia to end the war that’s been raging in Ukraine.
“There may come a time when the Ukrainian government believes that they can think of a peace agreement they could live with,” Clinton said.
That is also contradictory to the way the Democrats have been saying there’s no peace deal to be made with the Russians at all regarding relations with Ukraine.
Bill Clinton’s comments show just how radical the Democrats have become just in the last twenty years since Bill has been out of the public eye.
