The left can’t stand SCOTUS. They want to radically transform it.
And a Democrat senator has declared war on the Supreme Court.
In a stunning display of partisan desperation, Sen. Raphael Warnock of Georgia openly admitted on national television that his party is willing to tear down the foundations of our independent judiciary to claw back power.
Appearing on NBC’s Meet the Press, the Democrat senator made it clear that nothing is off limits in their crusade against a Supreme Court that refuses to rubber-stamp their radical agenda.
Kristen Welker, the host of the program, pressed Warnock directly: “Some of your colleagues and fellow Democrats are calling for adding additional seats to the Supreme Court. Would you support that? Would you vote to add additional seats to the Supreme Court?”
The senator’s response revealed the depths of their frustration. “I think we have to look at what’s happening in our country because it’s very serious. Donald Trump, in this most recent iteration, began this terrible race to the bottom that we’re seeing with gerrymandering by calling into Texas and saying, I need five more seats.”
“The Supreme Court then poured fuel on that fire and with a vengeance, while people are literally casting their votes. We’re seeing state legislatures, led by craven politicians, race to try to play with the lines to jimmy rig the outcome in order to make it impossible for ordinary American citizens to hold their elected officials accountable at a time where this economy is not working for us.”
“And the Supreme Court, continues to undermine his own credibility. I think that all options have to be on the table. We definitely need reform to this court. We need a code of ethics and, all options at this point. I have to be on the table.”
This is the same tired playbook from the left: blame everyone but themselves for their electoral failures.
Instead of winning hearts and minds with policies that actually help working families, they attack the one institution standing in the way of their complete dominance over American life.
Welker followed up for clarification: “So that includes adding seats and or term limits?”
Warnock doubled down: “All options have to be on the table.”
The message could not be clearer. Democrats view the Supreme Court not as a co-equal branch of government tasked with interpreting the Constitution, but as an obstacle to be neutralized.
When the Court issues rulings protecting religious liberty, securing borders, or defending the rights of states against federal overreach, the left screams “crisis” and reaches for the nuclear option of court-packing.
Ordinary Americans see through this charade. For years, the Supreme Court served as a reliable ally in advancing progressive causes.
Only when the balance shifted toward constitutional originalism did Democrats declare the institution illegitimate.
Their sudden concern about “ethics” rings hollow coming from a party that celebrated activist judges who legislated from the bench for decades.
