The Left is in dire straits after the results of the election. The American people indicated that they are not buying what the Democrats are selling in the slightest. It’s not just the election that’s giving them issues, though.

Now the courts are piling on with a hard reality check for Democrats. Federal courts are rejecting the Biden-Harris regime’s amnesty plans for countless illegal immigrants just before Donald Trump is able to take office once more this January.

Biden Administration Faces Legal Defeat Over Immigration Amnesty Plan

The Biden-Harris administration suffered a significant legal setback on Thursday when a federal judge ruled against its effort to provide amnesty for hundreds of thousands of undocumented immigrants living in the United States. The ruling, issued by the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, declared that President Joe Biden’s executive order, which aimed to offer a pathway to citizenship for illegal migrants married to U.S. citizens, was unlawful.

The executive order, first introduced in June 2023, was part of the administration’s broader immigration reform agenda. The plan, known as the Keeping Families Together program, sought to allow undocumented spouses of U.S. citizens to apply for lawful permanent residence without having to leave the country. Under current U.S. immigration law, illegal immigrants who marry U.S. citizens must typically leave the U.S. and return to their home country to complete the process of securing legal status. Biden’s order would have allowed these migrants to stay in the U.S. while their applications were processed.

However, the initiative was swiftly challenged by a coalition of Republican-led states, led by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. The states argued that the Biden administration had overstepped its legal authority by attempting to provide an expansive form of amnesty to illegal immigrants without Congressional approval.

Gene Hamilton, executive director of America First Legal, a conservative advocacy group that spearheaded the legal challenge, celebrated the court’s ruling as a victory for state sovereignty and the rule of law. “Since day one, the Biden-Harris Administration has dedicated itself to the decimation of our immigration system and the erasure of our borders,” Hamilton said in a statement following the decision.

“Time and again, the states stood up. And today, the great State of Texas and the courageous Ken Paxton, alongside a coalition of other brave Attorneys General, succeeded in stopping an illegal program that would have provided amnesty to hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens and paved the path for the largest administrative amnesty in American history.”

The Keeping Families Together program had been touted by the Biden administration as a means of uniting families and easing the legal hurdles faced by U.S. citizens married to undocumented immigrants. The White House projected that the initiative could affect as many as 500,000 illegal migrants, while America First Legal argued that the number could exceed one million.

The executive order relied on a legal provision known as “parole-in-place,” which allows certain noncitizens to remain in the U.S. while their immigration cases are processed. The plan included provisions for legal permanent residency, work permits, and a potential path to citizenship for those approved under the program.

Despite the court’s ruling, the Biden administration had remained steadfast in its determination to pursue the policy. In August, after the lawsuit was filed, the U.S. District Court temporarily paused the program. However, President Biden vowed to continue his administration’s fight to protect and expand immigration rights.

On Thursday, the court issued its final decision, ruling that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) lacked the statutory authority to implement the Keeping Families Together program as envisioned by the Biden administration. The ruling represents a major legal blow to the White House’s efforts to reshape immigration policy without the involvement of Congress.

The legal challenge to the executive order is part of a broader battle over immigration reform in the United States, where tensions between federal and state authorities, as well as between political parties, continue to fuel debates over how to address the status of undocumented migrants.

While the White House had hoped to provide a solution for families affected by immigration policies, the court’s decision reinforces the limits of executive power in shaping immigration law. The case is expected to have broader implications for future immigration reforms and executive actions taken by the administration.

This news comes right after news reports indicated that the Biden-Harris administration is bracing for impact over a potential surge of illegal immigrants trying to cross the border before Donald Trump becomes President once more in January of next year.
