All hell broke loose when this GOP Rep. went on Fox News and made a stunning confession
Republicans winning the U.S. House was supposed to be one of the few bright spots of the 2022 midterms. But even that might be spoiled.
Because all hell broke loose when this GOP Rep. went on Fox News and made a jaw-dropping confession.
GOP Rep.-elect George Santos has been placed on the hot seat since his lies about his job experience, college experience, and heritage have come out.
Just because he’s a Republican doesn’t mean he’s safe from criticism from conservatives.
If anything, he should be held to a higher standard because conservatives expect more from “their” elected politicians than they do Democrats in office.
And Rep.-elect George Santos (R-N.Y.) came under fire from former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii) for telling “blatant lies” about his past.
Filling in for the popular Fox News host, Tulsi Gabbard said, “If I were one of those in New York’s 3rd District right now, now that the election is over, and I’m finding out all of these lies that you’ve told, not just one little lie or one little embellishment — these are blatant lies — my question is, do you have no shame?”
Gabbard continued, “Do you have no shame? And the people who are now, you’re asking to trust you to go and be their voice for them, their families and their kids in Washington?”
In response, Santos deflected saying that Democrats do the same thing. While that is true, he didn’t give anyone a great deal of confidence with his answers.
“Tulsi, I can say the same thing about the Democrats. Look at Joe Biden. Joe Biden has been lying to the American people for 40 years. He’s the president of the United States. Democrats resoundingly support him. Do they have no shame?” Santos asked.
In response to Santos, Gabbard made the point that one of the concerns that many people have is if Santos is Jewish.
“My heritage is Jewish. I’ve always identified as Jewish. I was raised as a practicing Catholic,” Santos argued.
Santos explained that, “Not being raised a practicing Jew, I’ve always joked with friends and circles, even within the campaign, I’d say, guys, I’m ‘Jew-ish.’ Keep in mind that I was raised Catholic.
Santos went on to say, “So, look, I understand everybody wants to nitpick at me. I’m gonna reassure this once and for all. I’m not a facade. I’m not a persona. I have an extensive career that I worked really hard to achieve. And I’m going to deliver from my experience because I remain committed in delivering results for the American people.”
Gabbard would go on to conclude the interview with Santos saying that it’s hard to imagine that Santos can expect anyone to trust him.
“We’ve given you a lot of time. I think the time that is owed is to the people of New York’s 3rd. It’s hard to imagine how they could possibly trust your explanations when you’re not really even willing to admit the depth of your deception to them.” Gabbard said.
In an interview with The New York Post, Santos acknowledged fabricating some of his biography.
“I didn’t graduate from any institution of higher learning. I’m embarrassed and sorry for having embellished my resume,” he said. “I own up to that … We do stupid things in life.”
In addition, Santos said that when revealing his career history, he made a “poor choice of words.”
“My sins here are embellishing my resume. I’m sorry,” Santos concluded.
Santos can apologize all he wants, but it’s likely that he will be done in Congress after his term is up in 2024.
There’s no room for anymore RINOs who just want to play the D.C. politics game to get their way.
