Federal judge gives the Biden family news they never wanted to hear

The Bidens are in a tough spot. And it’s only getting worse after this court news.

Because a federal judge has given the Biden family a warning and a serious reality check.

Hunter Biden’s legal battle against federal tax charges took center stage in a Los Angeles courthouse, as his defense team, led by Abbe D. Lowell, endeavored to dismantle the case. Despite Hunter Biden’s absence, his attorneys fervently argued before U.S. District Judge Mark Scarsi, pushing for the case’s dismissal or significant weakening.

Lowell’s strategy included a bold assertion that Hunter Biden faced selective prosecution orchestrated by special counsel David Weiss, ostensibly under political duress. “There is nothing regular about how this case was initiated [and] investigated,” Lowell contended. However, Judge Scarsi, seeking substantiation, challenged Lowell to provide concrete evidence to support these claims, noting the absence of such proof from the defense.

Attorney General Merrick Garland’s appointment of Weiss as special counsel in August further fueled speculation about political motivations. However, when pressed by Scarsi on whether there was tangible evidence of external pressure influencing the prosecution, Hunter Biden’s legal team found themselves lacking. Despite Lowell’s assertions, the defense struggled to demonstrate that the Justice Department succumbed to political interference.

The unraveling of a plea deal and pretrial diversion agreement in Delaware, orchestrated by Weiss and Hunter Biden’s legal team, further complicated matters. The collapse ensued when U.S. District Judge Maryellen Noreika scrutinized the scope of a prosecutorial immunity provision within the diversion agreement. Disputes arose over the agreement’s validity, particularly concerning whether it still conferred immunity upon Biden.

Federal prosecutors, vehemently opposing the defense’s assertions, dismissed claims of selective prosecution as baseless conspiracy theories. They highlighted the absence of former President Donald Trump from the current political landscape, refuting any insinuations of partisan influence on the Justice Department’s actions.

Moreover, the prosecution contended that the diversion agreement lacked binding force, as it was never formally enacted by probation officers.

Meanwhile, Hunter Biden’s entanglement with federal tax charges and gun offenses loomed large. Accused of failing to pay over $1 million in taxes and filing false returns, he faces a formidable legal challenge.

Simultaneously, in Delaware, he confronts three federal gun charges related to firearm purchases during a period of drug addiction. Despite pleading not guilty to all charges, Hunter Biden’s legal ordeal intensifies as he braces for trial on the gun charges which is scheduled to commence in early June.

The backdrop of political scrutiny and legal complexity underscores the gravity of Hunter Biden’s legal predicament. As his defense battles against federal tax charges and gun offenses, the specter of political influence looms large, casting a shadow over the proceedings and amplifying public interest in the case.

In the midst of these legal skirmishes, Hunter Biden’s dealings have drawn congressional scrutiny, with House Republicans probing his foreign business entanglements as part of an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden.

Last month, Hunter Biden testified before Congress, confirming his father’s interactions with foreign business partners.

Against this backdrop of political intrigue and legal wrangling, Hunter Biden’s legal entanglements take on added significance. The swirling controversies and courtroom drama surrounding his case underscore the complexities at play, as legal arguments intersect with political narratives.

Whether or not Hunter Biden ultimately prevails against the federal tax charges and gun offenses, the stakes are undeniably high, with implications reaching far beyond the confines of the courtroom.

Hunter Biden’s father, President Joe Biden, is already severely underwater with his approval ratings as low as the 20s depending on which pollster you go to. Hunter Biden’s dirty laundry constantly being aired is the last thing Joe Biden and the Democrats want to see.

But it’s what they’ve got. While a majority of voters have also indicated in surveys that Hunter Biden’s crimes shouldn’t have a major impact on their opinion of President Joe Biden, the reality is that Biden will need every vote he can get if he wants to win this November.

Donald Trump has been leading him in the national polls for months, something that wasn’t the case in the razor close 2020 election cycle. Even a small portion of former 2020 Biden voters finding a home elsewhere would be enough to change everything, especially in battleground states that are going to be hotly contested once again like Michigan and Arizona.
