Congressman provides intel on a game-changing threat that could be disastrous for America

The world is a hostile place. The U.S. has many enemies.

And a congressman provided intel on a game-changing threat that could be disastrous for America.

Rep. James Comer delivered a blunt warning on Newsmax this week about the persistent dangers lurking in Cuba.

The Kentucky Republican made clear that the communist regime sitting so close to American shores demands serious attention from Washington.

Comer cut through the usual diplomatic fog. He declared that “Cuba has always been a national security threat.” This island has served as a launchpad for trouble against the United States for generations, and smart leaders have never forgotten that fact.

The congressman highlighted the real risk of Cuba falling into even worse hands. Foreign adversaries already probe for weakness around the globe.

Handing advanced weapons to the Cuban regime would turn a headache into a direct menace.

Host Rob Finnerty pressed Comer on the point, asking if he really viewed Cuba as a threat today.

The response left no room for doubt about how quickly the situation could change.

“If some country went in and loaded Cuba with the same drones that Iran had when we first started bombing Iran, then, yes, I think it could be a threat. I don’t think that’s there,” Comer said in response.

Americans should take this scenario seriously. Drones have changed modern warfare, allowing hostile forces to project power cheaply and effectively.

Placing that kind of capability so near our coastline would force the U.S. military into a constant defensive posture.

Comer made his position crystal clear on military action. Nobody is in favor of “an invasion of Cuba or anything else.” He does not think any such operation lies ahead.

Instead, the focus should stay on smart power and recognizing opportunity.

The Cuban people suffer under one of the most repressive systems in the Western Hemisphere, and their hardship creates a moment for real change.

Comer pointed to the dire conditions on the island. “With the economic conditions the worst they’ve ever been in Cuba,” he sees a rare opening for decisive American leadership.
