Criminal charges against a US Senator have all hell breaking loose

Senators are some of the highest-profile and most powerful politicians in the US. But now one of them is getting taken down.

And these criminal charges against a US Senator have all hell breaking loose.

Americans are tired of hearing about criminal investigations and lawsuits against Donald Trump and Republicans.

It’s become incredibly obvious that there is a two-tiered justice system in this country.

But now it isn’t just the Republicans being smacked with charges.

And these allegations are far more credible than anything we’ve seen before.

According to a new report, the US Department of Justice is considering charging Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) with a crime following a lengthy corruption probe.

According to the Wall Street Journal, prosecutors are scheduled to meet with Menendez’s lawyers in the next weeks, indicating that prosecutors have “developed the evidence they need to bring charges.”

Meetings like this one are generally held at the end of an investigation so that defense lawyers can provide reasons why their clients should not be charged.

The criminal investigation into Menendez, which began in October of last year, was initially focused on how IS EG Halal, a New Jersey-based halal meat company, won “an exclusive worldwide contract with Egypt to certify halal exports — as numerous other firms’ contracts were suddenly canceled in 2019,” according to NBC News.

According to multiple sources, the US Agriculture Department was suspicious of how the major contract was granted to the company with “little experience.”

The story said that Menendez’s wife is friends with the company’s owners, and as chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Menendez is in charge of billions of dollars’ worth of arms sales to Egypt.

Menendez was charged on bribery charges in 2015 for allegedly collecting “luxury vacations, golf outings, campaign donations, and expensive flights” in exchange for political favors from Florida physician Salomon Melgen.

Melgen was convicted in April by a federal jury in Florida on “67 charges for operating what prosecutors called a massive scheme that robbed Medicare of up to $105 million,” according to the Palm Beach Post.

Prosecutors began investigating Menendez in 2012 after receiving information that he was having relations with teenage prostitutes in the Dominican Republic.

The jury was split during the trial, resulting in a mistrial.

Why is this guy still in office?

Who hears that their Senator is being investigated as a bribe accepting pedophile and flocks to the polls for his cause?

Democrats, apparently.
