Democrat congressman reveals plan to handcuff President Trump

Trump is being attacked yet again. It’s getting old at this point.

And a Democrat congressman revealed plans to handcuff President Trump.

Rep. Ro Khanna, the California Democrat, appeared on NBC’s Meet the Press recently and made a bold claim about stopping President Trump’s actions against the Iranian regime.

According to Khanna, the House now has the numbers to ram through a resolution under the War Powers Act. This move would handcuff the administration’s ability to press Iran hard and protect American interests in the region.

Host Kristen Welker pressed the congressman on the recent drama. “Well, let me ask you about the War Powers Act because House Republican leaders abruptly canceled a vote to limit President Trump’s war powers in Iran,” she stated.

“It came just days after the Senate voted for the first time to advance a similar measure. Do you believe there are now enough votes to pass the War Powers Act in the House?”

“Kristen, I do. It was a bit surreal last week. I mean, first, they delayed the vote by 45 minutes to 60 minutes. And then they just pulled the vote. And the reason is that now, unlike when Thomas [Massie] and I introduced the resolution, there are a lot of Republicans who believe the war should end,” Khanna said in response.

“They’ve talked to farmers who say the price of nitrogen, ammonia, urea are through the roof because of the blockade and control of the Strait of Hormuz. They know that the price of gas is up. The price of diesel is up. And they’re hearing it from their constituents.”

“So this is putting pressure on Trump to get a negotiation. And it’s why Congress matters. Even when we don’t get a vote through, we do put pressure on the president. Hopefully, this war ends. And I’ve always said I would support a negotiated end to the war.”

Khanna’s comments reveal the left’s typical playbook: use any crisis to weaken a strong American president.

While ordinary citizens deal with rising costs at the pump and on the farm, Democrats like Khanna see an opening to score political points.

They frame legitimate pressure on a dangerous adversary as reckless warmongering, all while ignoring how Iran has provoked the situation for years.

Congress does play a key role in checking executive power. Yet Khanna’s glee over canceled votes and mounting pressure feels more like partisan games than genuine concern for working Americans.

When Republicans listen to constituents about diesel prices and farm inputs, that’s accountability.

When Democrats join the chorus, it often serves their goal of undermining any successful conservative leader.
