Fetterman Pushes for Decisive Action Against Iran’s Nuclear Program
Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., is intensifying his call for the complete dismantling of Iran’s nuclear capabilities, advocating for a bold and unyielding approach to curb the regime’s ambitions.
In a recent interview, the senator expressed unwavering support for Israel and a zero-tolerance stance toward Iran’s nuclear program, which he views as a destabilizing force in the Middle East.
“Waste that s—,” Fetterman told the Washington Free Beacon. “You’re never going to be able to negotiate with that kind of regime that has been destabilizing the region for decades already, and now we have an incredible window, I believe, to do that, to strike and destroy Iran’s nuclear facilities.”
Reflecting on past U.S. policy, Fetterman criticized diplomatic efforts with Iran. “Years ago, I completely understood why Trump withdrew from the Obama deal.
Today, I can’t understand why Trump would negotiate with this diseased regime. The negotiations should be comprised of 30,000-pound bombs and the IDF,” he stated, referring to the Israel Defense Forces.
Fox News Digital sought comment from Fetterman’s office on Thursday but had not received a response by the time of publication.
A Consistent Voice for Israel
Fetterman, a steadfast ally of Israel, has repeatedly urged the destruction of Iran’s nuclear infrastructure.
In a post on X last week, he declared, “The only purpose of Iran’s nuclear program is to create weapons. We can’t allow that or negotiate with this regime. Provide our comprehensive military support and whatever else Israel requires to destroy Iran’s capabilities.”
His stance echoes earlier remarks from January, when he wrote on X, “Whatever remains of Iran’s nuclear program needs to be destroyed and I fully support efforts to do so.”
Trump Signals Alignment with Israel
The senator’s comments come amid renewed focus on U.S.-Israel relations. Former President Donald Trump recently highlighted his alignment with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
“I’ve just spoken to Prime Minister of Israel, Bibi Netanyahu, relative to numerous subjects including Trade, Iran, etc. The call went very well – We are on the same side of every issue,” Trump posted on Truth Social on Tuesday.
Fetterman’s outspoken rhetoric highlights a debate over how to address Iran’s nuclear ambitions, with the senator firmly advocating for military action over diplomacy.
