Leftist senator is extremely worried about this flawed Democrat candidate

The left likes to be cocky at times. But that’s not what’s happening here.

And this leftist senator is extremely worried about this flawed Democrat candidate.

In a stunning display of Democratic unease, Senator Chris Coons of Delaware openly admitted his worries about the party’s Senate nominee in Maine during a recent CNN appearance.

The spotlight fell on Graham Platner, whose controversial N*zi-affiliated tattoo has raised serious questions about judgment and fitness for high office.

This episode exposes deep cracks within the left’s ranks as they grapple with candidates who carry baggage that should disqualify them from public trust.

Coons, a reliable establishment figure, made it clear he wants no part in defending Platner’s record.

While he praised the voters’ choice in abstract terms, his hesitation spoke volumes about the kind of radical the Democrats have elevated in Maine.

The Delaware senator laid out his priorities:

“I’ve got my own reelection campaign to focus on. And I have lots of current colleagues who I am helping and supporting. Whether it’s Sherrod Brown who is seeking to return, to his seat or others like Mark Warner, who I am campaigning with and supporting.”

“I know Susan Collins. I’ve worked with her, and I understand and respect why the voters of Maine, have chosen someone who is an outspoken, forceful, progressive, someone who is a combat veteran, and brings a new direction, for the state of Maine, if he were to be elected.”

Yet right after nodding to Platner’s supposed strengths, Coons pivoted sharply to the problems.

“But I’ve had real concerns about his tattoo, and his story about, what he thought or didn’t think about this N*zi affiliated tattoo, and some of the allegations about his personal conduct,” Coons stated.

“At the end of the day, I think the voters of Maine, made it pretty clear that they wanted national Democrats to stay out of their primary and make up their own minds.”

This awkward dance reveals a party in disarray. National Democrats love to meddle in local races when it suits their agenda, pushing radical candidates who check every progressive box.

But when those same picks come with visible ties to extremist symbols, even insiders like Coons start looking for the exits.
