Tempers are flaring. And there’s no telling how it will end.
But now President Trump called out a key Republican in Congress as a traitor.
President Donald Trump unleashed a scorching rebuke of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene on Sunday, branding the Georgia firebrand a “Traitor” to America in a blistering Truth Social tirade that escalated a bitter feud over her push to release explosive Epstein files and her pointed criticisms of White House foreign policy.
The president’s post came hours after Greene detailed a wave of hoax threats—pizza deliveries to her home and a pipe bomb scare at her business—blaming Trump’s rhetoric for inciting “dangerous radicals.”
“Wacky Marjorie ‘Traitor’ Brown (Remember, Green turns to Brown where there is ROT involved!) is working overtime to try and portray herself as a victim when, in actuality, she is the cause of all of her own problems. The fact is, nobody cares about this Traitor to our Country!” Trump wrote.
Escalating threats and accusations fly
Greene, in a lengthy Sunday X post, recounted the harassment: “The hoax pizza deliveries have started now, to my house and my family members. Update: we also received a pipe bomb threat on my construction companies office building. President Trump’s unwarranted and vicious attacks against me were a dog whistle to dangerous radicals that could lead to serious attacks on me and my family.”
She pushed back fiercely: “I am not a traitor. However, when the President of the United States irresponsibly calls a Member of Congress of his own party, traitor, he is signaling what must be done to a traitor. I fought harder than anyone to help President Trump get elected and I support his administration and the promises we made on the campaign.”
The congresswoman tied the timing to her advocacy for transparency: “Also, the timing of this just happens to be days before we take the vote on releasing the Epstein files.”
In earlier posts, Greene shared screenshots of texts urging Trump to back the release, insisting survivors “deserve the truth” and that she’s “listening to them!!”
Trump’s withdrawal: Primary challenge on the horizon
The dust-up traces to Friday, when Trump yanked his endorsement: “I am withdrawing my support and Endorsement of ‘Congresswoman’ Marjorie Taylor Greene, of the Great State of Georgia… I understand that wonderful, Conservative people are thinking about primarying Marjorie in her District of Georgia, that they too are fed up with her and her antics and, if the right person runs, they will have my Complete and Unyielding Support.”
Saturday brought more heat, with Trump labeling her a “RINO” and declaring: “Marjorie ‘Traitor’ Green is a disgrace to our GREAT REPUBLICAN PARTY!”
Greene has sparred with the administration over foreign entanglements, slamming a White House meeting with Syria’s new leader—a former Al-Qaeda figure—as “Veterans last” and urging focus on domestic woes like Obamacare costs.
Yet she insists her loyalty remains: “I stood with President Trump when almost no one else would. I campaigned for him all over this country and spent millions of my own dollars helping him get elected… I remain America First and America Only!!!”
The intra-party clash risks fracturing GOP unity ahead of key votes, with Greene vowing to press on despite the personal toll: “That’s why being called a ‘traitor’ isn’t just hurtful, it puts a target on my back and puts my life in danger. And it only divides our country even more.”
