Top Democrat reveals deadly diagnosis that sent Washington, D.C. into chaos

Politics can get bitter, and it’s easy to lose sight of the bigger picture. And now one Leftist got hit with an awful curveball.

As a top Democrat revealed a deadly diagnosis that sent Washington, D.C. into chaos.

America is more divided than ever. The political polarization has reached a fever pitch.

The danger of it all is forgetting that each and every one of us is a human being with a fragile life.

At any instant, that flame can be extinguished.

And one Democrat is learning just how precious life truly is.

Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) disclosed on social media late Sunday night that she had recently been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

The announcement comes after Lee lost her bid to become Houston’s next mayor last year following the publication of hacked audio tapes in which she berated colleagues.

“My doctors have confirmed my diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. I am currently undergoing treatment to battle this disease that impacts tens of thousands of Americans every year,” she said.

“I am confident that my doctors have developed the best possible plan to target my specific disease. The road ahead will not be easy, but I stand in faith that God will strengthen me.”

She stated that she would most certainly lose time in Congress while pursuing treatment, but that her office will continue to serve residents uninterrupted.

“I am committed to working with our Congressional Leadership including Leader Hakeem Jeffries and the Speaker of House to serve this nation and be present for votes on legislation that is critical for the prosperity and security of the American people,” she stated.

“By God’s grace, I will be back at full strength soon.”

“Please keep me and my family in your prayers as you have always done,” she said.

“Know that you will remain in mine. As always, God bless you and God bless the United States of America.”

Lee’s statement elicited well wishes from across the political spectrum.

This is the kind of civility we need.
