Naturally, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez had a lot to say after Paul Pelosi was attacked. Nothing Ocasio-Cortez said boosted her Party’s fortunes, and that was no surprise.
And here’s the truth about the attack on Nancy Pelosi’s house that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez doesn’t want you to know.
The police have not yet explained why 42-year-old Dave DePape is suspected of beating Paul Pelosi over the head with a hammer in his home.
DePape is a nudist activist who once resided in a Berkeley home plastered with Black Lives Matter and LGBT pride emblems, both of which are popular in the city’s liberal subculture.
Ilham Omar and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez blamed Republicans for the attack, despite having no evidence to support their accusations.
“A far-Right white nationalist tried to assassinate the Speaker of the House and almost killed her husband a year after violent insurrectionists tried to find her and kill her in the Capitol,” Omar declared. “And the Republican Party’s response is to either ignore it or belittle it.”
Ocasio-Cortez even went so far as to say that House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy was to blame for the entire incident.
“Yesterday, a man sharing that member’s rhetoric tried to assassinate the Speaker and her spouse,” Ocasio-Cortez ranted. “What has @GOPLeader said? Nothing. This is who he is.”
However, McCarthy’s office said that the Minority Leader personally reached out to Pelosi to send his best wishes for her husband’s full recovery after the horrific attack.
“Leader McCarthy reached out to the Speaker to check in on Paul and said he’s praying for a full recovery and is thankful they caught the assailant,” a statement from McCarthy’s office read.
McCarthy elaborated on these remarks in an interview with Breitbart, saying that it was wrong for someone to attack not only Paul Pelosi but also New York Republican gubernatorial candidate Lee Zeldin or the Joe Biden supporter who attempted to assassinate conservative Supreme Court Justice, Brett Kavanaugh.
“I reached out to the Speaker. I called her, I know she was on a plane to California, but I was able to text with her to tell her about our prayers for Paul. Thankfully he’s gonna be OK,” McCarthy began.
“But thankfully the attacker — he’s a deranged individual — but thankfully he is arrested,” McCarthy added. “And we’ve watched this with Lee Zeldin, we’ve watched this with Supreme Court Justices, this is wrong — violence should not go. You watch what happened to Steve Scalise and others. This has got to stop.”
McCarthy’s remarks shed light on one of the most egregious examples of double standards in American politics.
When Rep. Steve Scalise was shot by a Bernie Sanders supporter, Democrats cried that we shouldn’t blame anyone for the attack.
Their hypocrisy knows no limits.
Whenever someone commits a violent act against a Democrat, it is automatically categorized as the logical extension of the Right’s “violent” rhetoric.
When a Republican is the victim of political violence by a Democrat, however, it is treated as if it were an act of God and not any more significant than a lightning strike.
