The Department of Justice has gone completely insane. They’re doing everything to attack the former President.
Because Biden’s DOJ demanded a judge do the unthinkable to Donald Trump.
One of Donald Trump’s best defenses in response to the indictment charges he is facing for allegedly trying to overturn the 2020 election is the idea that he has First Amendment rights to free speech.
He even continues to insist today that the 2020 election was “rigged”. Though it should be known that there has not been indisputable proof that the 2020 election was fixed in favor of Joe Biden.
And yet, it is within his First Amendment to say what he believes about the 2020 election, even if it’s not popular.
In Donald Trump’s opinion, one of his most important tools is being able to speak his mind and share what he is thinking with his followers. It’s why he gained major popularity in 2016 to begin with.
The DOJ, at the direction of the Biden administration, is trying to muzzle him, though.
According to the latest reports, the DOJ is requesting the U.S. District Court Judge Tanya Chutkan hand down a court order that would silence Donald Trump and prevent him from being able to say anything about the indictment trials.
The National Review reports:
The Department of Justice implored U.S. District Court Judge Tanya Chutkan to issue a protective order curtailing Donald Trump’s ability to share information about his indictment online. Chutkan is presiding over the trial of Donald Trump in Washington, D.C., on four charges related to his alleged attempt to overturn the 2020 presidential election.
The court filing from special counsel Jack Smith reads:
“If the defendant were to begin issuing public posts using details — or, for example, grand jury transcripts — obtained in discovery here, it could have a harmful chilling effect on witnesses or adversely affect the fair administration of justice in this case.”
This news comes after Donald Trump took to his Truth Social account to say, “IF YOU GO AFTER ME, I’M COMING AFTER YOU!”
This court filing from the Jack Smith office is an obvious attempt to get Donald Trump from being able to drum up support from his base in the face of these indictment attacks.
Of course, the DOJ is going to say that this is to “protect” the individuals involved in the case and prevent any potential “violence” that could come as a result.
But there’s been zero evidence that Donald Trump is trying to incite violence against anyone involved in this indictment case.
This goes back to the heart of the case. Jack Smith and the DOJ are charging Donald Trump in this January 6 case because they say he tried to essentially start an insurrection by sharing his honest opinions.
But there is no proof that Donald Trump was working on an insurrection like the Jack Smith office is claiming there is.
