Disturbing revelations about Trump prosecutors go public in leaked documents

The Trump prosecutors are all scattering. They’re preparing for him to get revenge.

And now disturbing revelations about the Trump prosecutors have gone public in leaked documents.

Going after a former President for legally dubious reasons with convenient timing right before an election is a risk that the Democrats and the establishment knew could backfire in a big way should Donald Trump survive. Survive the man did. Not only did he survive all the legal attacks brought against him, Donald Trump literally survived an assassination attempt that came within an inch of taking his life.

Now that all the cases are being suspended and thrown out the window, like Jack Smith’s Jan. 6 and classified documents cases he charged Trump with, the day of reckoning for the Trump attackers have arrived. It’s time to put all the chips on the table, and let’s just say it doesn’t exactly look good for Jack Smith and the Joe Biden administration Department of Justice.

Special Counsel Jack Smith Spent Tens of Millions of Taxpayer Dollars on Prosecuting Trump

Special Counsel Jack Smith’s investigation into former President Donald Trump has not only proven to be an unnecessary and excessive use of taxpayer funds but has also raised serious ethical concerns. Over the past two years, Smith’s office has spent an estimated $50 million — money that could have been better allocated to more pressing needs — while investigating Trump for alleged interference in the 2020 election and his handling of classified documents.

According to financial disclosures from the Department of Justice, Smith’s office incurred costs totaling around $9.25 million between November 2022, when Smith was appointed, and March 31, 2023. In the subsequent six months, that number increased to approximately $14.66 million. More recently, between October 1, 2023, and March 31, 2024, the office spent around $11.84 million. These figures represent both direct and indirect expenses, with the latter covered by various Department of Justice agencies.

The average of the three reported periods is about $12 million per quarter. Adding this estimate to previous reports, the total cost of Smith’s investigation to date stands at around $47.5 million. However, the total figure is likely to be even higher, as expenditures for the period between April 1, 2024, and September 30, 2024, have yet to be disclosed, pushing the total well past $50 million, as reported by Newsweek.

Given this substantial financial burden, one must ask: Was this costly investigation really justified? Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed Smith to oversee the federal probes into Trump’s alleged election interference and mishandling of sensitive classified documents. Yet, after an exhaustive two-year investigation, Smith filed motions to dismiss the cases earlier this week, citing procedural standards that bar the prosecution of a sitting president.

The judge presiding over the election interference case agreed to drop the charges, while a decision on the classified documents case was still pending as of Monday evening. Trump’s response was pointed and clear. On his Truth Social platform, he referred to the investigations as “empty and lawless,” stating that they “should never have been brought.”

He also highlighted the ongoing efforts by state prosecutors like Fulton County DA Fani Willis, Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg, and New York Attorney General Letitia James, all of whom, Trump claimed, “inappropriately, unethically, and probably illegally campaigned on ‘GETTING TRUMP.’”

This entire spectacle begs the question of whether the $50 million spent and the years of taxpayer-funded resources dedicated to pursuing a former president were truly warranted. With the dismissal of the charges, it’s apparent that the investigation failed to achieve its intended goal and has proven to be both a waste of public funds and an ethically questionable political maneuver.

Donald Trump Free To Pardon Himself, But Will He?

As some legal experts have noted, Jack Smith has left the door open to potentially bring charges back against Donald Trump once he leaves office in January of 2029, assuming nothing tragic happens between now and then that would prevent Donald Trump from resuming a private life after public service in the White House.

This could prompt Donald Trump to pardon himself once he’s back in charge of the pen in the Oval Office, which most constitutional scholars agree is not a violation of any law on the books for a sitting U.S. President. This would make it impossible for any prosecutor to charge Donald Trump for these cases once more, even though the door is currently left open.

The question is whether he will pardon himself. Plenty of supporters are calling on Donald Trump to pardon himself and go after the Biden-era Department of Justice officials who wasted so many taxpayer resources to controversially attack the former President of the United States.
