The radical Left has had it out for former President Trump from the beginning. They may have just gotten the break they’ve been waiting for.

And Donald Trump is red with rage after being smacked with this accusation that could land him in jail.

Ever since Donald Trump won in 2016, the Left has been plotting how to bring him and his America First principles down.

They peddled the Russian Collusion hoax for years and sifted through every Tweet he ever made to drum up controversy and scandal.

When none of that worked out, they jumped on the events of January 6th, falsely claiming the former President fomented insurrection against the United States.

They formed the January 6 commission to a grand witch hunt – a supposed unbiased review of the evidence that was rigged from the start.

And the results are finally in, and they’re exactly what you would expect.

On Monday, the House January 6 Committee voted to recommend that the Justice Department charge former President Donald Trump in connection with the January 6, 2021, riot at the United States Capitol.

The committee, chaired by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), finished its investigation by voting to charge Trump with obstructing an official proceeding, conspiring to defraud the United States, conspiring to make false statements to the federal government, and encouraging an insurgency.

[Trump] “lost the 2020 election and knew it, but he choose to try and stay in office through a multi-part scheme to overturn the results and block the transfer of power,” committee chairman Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS) said in his opening statement. “In the end, he summoned a mob to Washington and, knowing they were armed and angry, pointed them to the Capitol and told them to ‘fight like hell.’ There’s no doubt about this.”

The proposals are mostly symbolic, as they have no legal ramifications. The Justice Department is under no duty to act on the committee’s recommendations.

In addition to the referrals to the Justice Department, the committee also decided to report four members of Congress to the House Ethics Committee for refusing to cooperate with subpoenas.

The committee’s Monday meeting concludes the work that began when it was formed in July 2021. Over the summer, it interviewed over 1,000 interviews and held ten highly publicized hearings to construct its case to the Justice Department and the American public that Trump is responsible for the January 6 incident.

The probe was conducted by seven Democratic and two Republican lawmakers. After Pelosi rejected several of McCarthy’s nominations for the committee, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) refused to participate with the committee.

Republican Reps. Liz Cheney of Wyoming and Adam Kinzinger of Illinois, who both backed impeaching Trump on January 6, eventually volunteered to serve on the committee alongside Democrats.

The former president has been a strong critic of the committee’s work, calling it a continuation of the “witch hunt” against him that began in 2016 with FBI counterintelligence investigations into baseless allegations that Trump’s campaign conspired with Russian operatives.

Prior to the vote on Monday, Trump spokesman Steven Cheung called the committee a “kangaroo court.” He termed its hearings over the summer “show trials by Never Trump partisans who are a stain on this country’s history,” according to The New York Times.

Trump responded to the committee that had issued a subpoena for the former president to testify in a 14-page memo in October.

“This memo is being written to express our anger, disappointment and complaint that with all of the hundreds of millions of dollars spent on what many consider to be a Charade and Witch Hunt,” Trump said.

Trump is the subject of a number of state and federal investigations, including a special counsel probe directed by Jack Smith, a former prosecutor at the International Criminal Court in The Hague.

Attorney General Merrick Garland assigned Smith to the special counsel’s office last month. Smith has taken up responsibility for a DOJ probe into Trump concerning January 6, 2021, and an examination into secret papers reportedly maintained at Trump’s Florida property at Mar-a-Lago.

The question isn’t whether Trump is guilty or innocent, it’s if the Left can convince enough people he is guilty to convict regardless of the facts.
