In a gut-wrenching attack just blocks from the White House, 20-year-old National Guard member Sarah Beckstrom of West Virginia was m*rdered Wednesday by Rahmanullah Lakanwal, a 29-year-old Afghan national who entered the U.S. under Biden’s chaotic 2021 evacuation.
Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe continues fighting for his life in critical condition. President Trump, visibly furious, announced Beckstrom’s death Thursday and vowed swift justice, while honoring the bravery of the Guardsmen who neutralized the attacker.

When CBS White House correspondent Nancy Cordes tried to lecture President Trump that Biden’s own DOJ Inspector General supposedly found “thorough vetting” of the Afghan influx, Trump shut her down with righteous fire:
“Your DOJ IG just reported this year that there was thorough vetting by DHS and by the FBI of these Afghans who were brought into the U.S., so why do you blame the Biden administration?” Cordes demanded.
“Because they let him in. Are you stupid? Are you a stupid person?” Trump shot back. “Because they came in on a plane along with thousands of other people that shouldn’t be here. And you’re just asking questions, because you’re a stupid person.”
He continued, hammering the point home: “And they came in, and they were unvetted, they were unchecked. There were many of them. And they came in on big planes, and it was disgraceful… And they came in, and they shouldn’t have come in, and frankly the whole thing was a mess. The whole Afghanistan situation was a mess.”

Lakanwal arrived in September 2021 under the disastrously mismanaged “Operation Allies Welcome,” part of the Biden-Mayorkas airlift that dumped over 120,000 Afghans onto American soil in mere weeks.
Nearly 800 military and contract flights ferried tens of thousands in a frantic 17-day scramble after the catastrophic surrender of Kabul.
On Truth Social, President Trump posted a searing photo of Afghans packed onto a U.S. transport plane with the caption:
“This is part of the horrendous airlift from Afghanistan. Hundreds of thousands of people poured into our Country totally unvetted and unchecked. We will fix it, but will never forget what Crooked Joe Biden and his Thugs did to our Country!”
Despite Mayorkas’s 2021 claims that every evacuee was properly screened, the blood of Sarah Beckstrom now proves those assurances were either lies or grotesque incompetence.
President Trump has already ordered a full re-examination of every Afghan admitted under Biden and promised mass removals of anyone who does not belong. America First means protecting American lives—something the previous administration catastrophically failed to do.
