Trump’s enemies are everywhere. And they always have a lot to say.
And a fierce Trump enemy went off on the president with a strange tirade.
James Carville just reminded everyone why so many Americans tuned out the old Democratic Party machine long ago.
On a recent episode of MS NOW’s The Beat, Carville unloaded on President Trump with a string of personal insults that sounded more like playground trash talk than serious political analysis.
“I don’t think Trump matters that much anymore. I think he’s a washed-up, fat old man,” he declared.
“I think he’s going to, in spite of everything the Democrats are doing, is going to have a massive loss in November. And I’ve said this repeatedly, I think he’s going to walk away. I don’t think he’s capable of leading this country. I don’t think he has the energy.”
That is the same James Carville who once helped steer Bill Clinton into the White House. Now he spends his time on cable television predicting the president will simply quit under pressure.
Host Ari Melber seemed caught off guard and asked, “What does walk away. I mean, are you trolling now? You’re trolling. You think he’s going to quit?”
Carville doubled down:
“Yes, ‘Walk away Renee.’ You are too young to remember that song. But it was a great song. I had a girlfriend in high school named Renee. I love the song ‘Walk Away Renee.’”
“He is going to walk away. He is not skilled enough. He is not tough enough. He is not going to be able to deal with the massive defeat that is coming his way.”
“And we need to be less obsessed with Trump and more obsessed with—how do we get out of this horrific mess we are in?”
Notice the pattern. When Democrats cannot defeat Trump at the ballot box, they turn to character attacks and wishful thinking about him disappearing.
Calling the president a “washed-up, fat old man” is not policy.
It is pure personal venom from a man who has spent decades inside the same Washington circles that ordinary Americans have grown tired of.
