Pence and Trump have a rough relationship. Things will never be the same between them.
And Mike Pence went off on Trump for this latest action.
In a pointed appearance on CNN, former Vice President Mike Pence delivered a stark warning about President Donald Trump’s emerging agreement with the Iranian regime.
He described the arrangement as carrying the unmistakable whiff of surrender to a longtime enemy, one that has spilled American blood and threatened our allies for decades.
Pence reminded viewers of Iran’s relentless hostility.
“Iran has been at war with the United States, and our cherished ally Israel, for 47 years,” he declared.
The former vice president praised Trump’s bold leadership in confronting Tehran directly.
Yet even with that support, Pence expressed deep reservations about the current path.
“I just don’t trust the Iranians,” Pence stated plainly.
Drawing from his extensive experience in the White House Situation Room and on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, he pointed to their “legacy of lies,” especially when it comes to their frantic push for nuclear weapons.
The potential memorandum of understanding now under discussion raised red flags for him.
“At least what we’re hearing echo out of this, this potential memorandum of understanding, it smacks of appeasement,” Pence said.
He drew a sharp contrast with the usual suspects on the left.
“I mean, it sounds a bit like what I write about in my book that, the progressive left has long embraced, appeasement against our adversaries like Iran,” Pence stated.
For too long, weak-kneed globalists have preferred photo-ops and handshakes over strength.
