Media figureheads don’t know how to come to grips with Trump’s presidency. Instead, they kick and scream for all to see.
And now ‘Morning Joe’ host Joe Scarborough melted down on camera for one ridiculous reason.
Scarborough’s On-Air Tirade Against Slotkin Highlights Media Bias
In a fiery segment on Morning Joe, host Joe Scarborough unleashed criticism at Democratic Senator Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) for her stance on a controversial video urging military personnel to defy any potentially “unlawful” directives from President Donald Trump—exposing what supporters see as ongoing media efforts to undermine Trump’s strong leadership on national security.
Scarborough didn’t challenge the video itself, where Slotkin—a former CIA analyst—and other ex-military Democrats suggested Trump might issue illegal commands, advising service members to reject them.
Instead, his gripe centered on Slotkin’s inability to pinpoint specific unlawful orders during a recent interview, a point Trump allies argue ignores the president’s track record of operating within legal bounds while decisively tackling threats like narco-terrorism.

Frustration Over Slotkin’s Interview Response
Scarborough was reacting to Slotkin’s appearance on ABC’s This Week with Martha Raddatz, where she conceded she wasn’t aware of any actual illegal orders from Trump.
“I’m sorry, with all due respect, wrong answer. President of the United States, the commander-in-chief does have wide latitude, just does. And the Senate can take that up. But he has wide latitude on strikes. Ask Barack Obama on drone strikes. Ask George W. Bush on drone strikes,” Scarborough remarked, nodding to Trump’s effective strikes against drug cartels.
Yet, he pivoted to claim Trump had signaled intent for illegal actions, a narrative Trump’s team dismisses as speculative fear-mongering by opponents.
Hyping Hypothetical Threats Amid Trump’s Lawful Actions
Scarborough pressed on, alleging Trump had openly threatened unlawful military deployments.
“But where we know the president has said, I am going to give illegal orders to people in the military, is when he was on Air Force One coming back, I forget where he was coming back from, but he said, ‘I can send the Marines. I can send the Army. I can send the Air Force. I can send the Coast Guard into any city I want to control crime. And the courts can’t do anything about it.’ That’s illegal. It’s just illegal,” Scarborough asserted, despite no such orders materializing under Trump, who has prioritized law and order without overstepping.
“And so Democrats kind of need to – if the president has already said, I’m going to commit this illegal act, then I’m kind of surprised they don’t have the answer when they go on a Sunday show for that,” he griped, a complaint that pro-Trump voices view as emblematic of legacy media’s reluctance to credit the president’s restraint and focus on restoring American strength.
