Biden has largely sunk into the shadows. But that isn’t a get-out-of-jail free card.
Because President Trump threatened Joe Biden with jail time for one terrible crime.
Trump’s Fiery Response to Arctic Frost Probe Revelations
President Trump unleashed a scathing attack on Truth Social, appearing to target his predecessor while condemning the Biden-era Arctic Frost investigation. “He is a CRIMINAL AND SHOULD BE IN JAIL. A MAJOR LOWLIFE AND FAILURE. An ugly person, both inside and out! I beat him badly, and love watching him squirm now,” Trump posted, without directly naming former President Joe Biden.
The outburst accompanied a shared Just the News article questioning the shaky foundations of the Arctic Frost probe, which investigated efforts by Trump’s allies to challenge the 2020 election results with an alternative slate of electors.
The probe, later led by former special counsel Jack Smith, culminated in a four-count federal indictment against Trump for allegedly attempting to undermine the 2020 election.
The case was dismissed after Trump’s victory over then-Vice President Kamala Harris, securing his position as the 47th president. Trump’s post reflects his ongoing frustration with what he and supporters view as politically motivated investigations.
Questionable Origins of Arctic Frost Investigation
The Arctic Frost probe, launched in spring 2022, relied on a memo citing CNN interview clips as evidence of Trump’s involvement in a supposed criminal conspiracy to overturn the 2020 election. Critics, including House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), have slammed the probe’s justification.
“It looks like this was just the same old weaponization, same old political focus, focus on politics, going after your political enemies,” Jordan told Just the News, comparing the probe’s tactics to the discredited Steele dossier’s inclusion in 2016 election assessments.
Former prosecutors and FBI agents have further criticized the probe, noting that historical attempts to present alternative electors in 1876 and 1960 did not lead to criminal charges.
The investigation’s broad scope, targeting over 400 GOP-leaning groups and individuals, including 160 Republicans and close Trump allies, has fueled accusations of overreach. The revelation that telecommunications data on eight sitting GOP senators was sought—detailing call recipients but not content—intensified scrutiny, prompting demands for accountability.
Calls for Investigation and Accountability
Trump’s outrage extended to Jack Smith, whom he labeled a “deranged” criminal on Truth Social, demanding that those behind the probe be investigated and imprisoned. “These thugs should all be investigated and put in prison,” he wrote, calling the investigation “a disgrace to humanity.”
In response to disclosures about the probe’s scope, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) released documents confirming the data requests, while Jordan called for Smith to face questioning before the House Judiciary Committee.
Smith has defended his investigation and prosecution, asserting that Trump would have faced conviction had he not won the 2024 election.
The controversy continues to stir debate, with Trump and his allies framing the Arctic Frost probe as a politically driven effort to target opponents, amplifying calls for further investigation into its origins and conduct.
