The Democrat Party is in disarray. Their so-called allies are turning against them.
And a wild scene erupted on the set of The View when this Democrat’s name was mentioned.
In a surprising twist that’s got the left squirming, Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman faced the music on ABC’s The View after bucking his own party to help end the brutal government shutdown.
The announcement came during Monday’s show, and it didn’t go over well with at least one audience member who let out a loud “Boo!” in response.
Co-host Whoopi Goldberg dropped the news: “Senator John Fetterman will be here tomorrow.” That single heckle cut through the air, prompting Goldberg to shoot a sharp glare toward the offender before pressing on.
She added, “So we’re going to ask [Fetterman], ‘What the h*ll?’ What is going on,’ and maybe we’ll get an answer.”
The Senate finally took action Sunday night, advancing a bipartisan deal to fund the government through January 30 and put an end to the longest shutdown in American history. This mess kicked off on October 1, leaving hardworking folks in the lurch.
Fetterman, known as a moderate Democrat from the Keystone State, joined seven others in crossing party lines to push the Republicans’ plan forward. It’s a bold move that’s exposed the deep fractures within the Democratic ranks.
Among those who voted yes were six fellow Democrats and independent Senator Angus King of Maine, who aligns with them. Together, they aimed to reopen the doors after weeks of unnecessary chaos.
This defection has fired up the far-left wing, with progressives digging in their heels against the deal unless it packs in more health-care subsidies.
Vermont’s independent Senator Bernie Sanders, who runs with the Democrats, stated: “To my mind, this was a very, very bad vote.”
But Fetterman isn’t backing down. He took to X on Sunday to explain his stance:
“After 40 days as a consistent voice against shutting our government down, I voted YES for the 15th time to REOPEN.”
“I’m sorry to our military, SNAP recipients, gov workers, and Capitol Police who haven’t been paid in weeks. It should’ve never come to this. This was a failure,” he posted, highlighting the real victims of this political gamesmanship.
With debate wrapping up, both the Senate and House could green-light the proposal as early as this week, bringing much-needed relief to Americans affected by the standoff.
President Trump weighed in Monday, affirming he’d stick to the deal’s terms to resolve the shutdown.
He also vowed that Republicans would roll out a fresh strategy to tackle the expiring health-insurance subsidies that sparked this whole fiasco in the first place.
This episode shines a light on how even some Democrats are fed up with their party’s obstructionism, choosing common sense over endless gridlock to get America back on track.
