Immigration was a big reason why Trump won the 2024 election. It’s one of his biggest agenda items.
And Donald Trump made a major update to his immigration policy that left everyone speechless.
President Trump dropped a bombshell on Thanksgiving night, vowing to slam the brakes on immigration from all “Third World Countries” until America gets back on its feet. In a fiery Truth Social post, he laid out his plan to protect American workers and restore order after years of chaos under the previous administration.
“Even as we have progressed technologically, Immigration Policy has eroded those gains and living conditions for many,” Trump said on Thursday. He didn’t hold back, pointing fingers at policies that have dragged down the nation.
The president made it crystal clear: “I will permanently pause migration from all Third World Countries to allow the U.S. system to fully recover, terminate all of the millions of Biden illegal admissions, including those signed by Sleepy Joe Biden’s Autopen, and remove anyone who is not a net asset to the United States,” he declared. This move aims to prioritize Americans first and fix the mess left behind.
On top of that, Trump pledged to cut off all federal benefits and subsidies that “noncitizens” obtain. No more handouts on the taxpayer dime, he signaled, as part of a broader push to reclaim resources for hardworking citizens.
He went further, promising to strip citizenship from migrants who stir up trouble at home. “Denaturalize migrants who undermine domestic tranquility, and deport any Foreign National who is a public charge, security risk, or non-compatible with Western Civilization,” Trump stated in his lengthy message.
Wrapping up with a punch, the post read: “Only REVERSE MIGRATION can fully cure this situation. Other than that, HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL, except those that hate, steal, m*rder, and destroy everything that America stands for — You won’t be here for long!” It’s a holiday greeting with teeth, aimed at those who threaten the American way.
This bold stance comes hot on the heels of a tragic attack near the White House. Two National Guard members were attacked in a deadly shooting on Wednesday, shaking the nation to its core.
Investigators quickly identified the suspect as Rahmanullah Lakanwal, a 29-year-old Afghan national. He slipped into the U.S. back in 2021 amid the Biden pullout from Afghanistan, courtesy of the “Operation Allies Welcome” program.
Lakanwal wasn’t just any refugee; he had ties to an elite counterterrorism unit in Afghanistan. The NDS-03 group, one of five “Zero Units,” collaborated closely with the CIA, according to AfghanEvac, a veteran-led nonprofit focused on resettling allies—though they didn’t assist him directly.
Even CIA Director John Ratcliffe confirmed Lakanwal’s work with the agency. That connection greased the wheels for his entry into America, highlighting flaws in the vetting process.
Lakanwal filed for asylum in December 2024 and got the green light just this April under the new Trump administration. But his actions now cast a dark shadow over those approvals.
The shooting claimed the life of 20-year-old West Virginia National Guard member Sarah Beckstrom and left 24-year-old Guardsman Andrew Wolfe fighting for his life in critical condition. In the wake of this horror, the administration wasted no time swinging into action.
US Citizenship and Immigration Services Director Joseph Edlow announced a massive overhaul on X.
He revealed plans for a “full-scale, rigorous reexamination” of every green card holder from nations flagged as high-risk.
Edlow explained that President Trump ordered this sweeping review, which could affect people from at least 19 countries.
It’s a no-holds-barred effort to root out potential threats hiding in plain sight.
Adding to the crackdown, the administration hit the pause button on all immigration processing for Afghan nationals.
This indefinite suspension will allow a thorough scrub of vetting procedures, ensuring no more wolves slip through the gates.
