Incriminating report from the border leaves Biden with nowhere to hide

The southern border is a disaster. But it’s worse than you could ever imagine.

And this incriminating report from the border finally left Biden with nowhere to hide.

We’ve all seen the pictures and videos of endless illegal immigrants pouring over the border.

Climbing through razor wire, they attack the National Guard and bring crime and drugs along with them.

The American government, for it’s part, should be prosecuting these people to the fullest extent of the law.

But new data shows that they’ve stopped doing their job completely.

According to a Daily Wire analysis of newly released data, President Joe Biden has largely abandoned criminal prosecution of illegal immigrants who cross the border, with the number of prosecutions of serious immigration offenses being lower during each year of the Biden administration than during any year of the Trump or Obama administrations.

Under Biden, prosecutions have virtually come to a halt. In 2018, the Department of Justice charged 84,000 people with unauthorized entry, a misdemeanor.

From 2021 to 2023, 11,000 people were charged with this misdemeanor, which is only 4% of the old rate, analysis of Department of Justice statistics showed.

Illegals who re-enter the nation after being deported are committing a felony. In 2019, the DOJ charged 27,000 persons with the felony.

In 2023, the figure was around half that, at 14,000. This comes as the number of unlawful crossings has increased, making the decline even more dramatic.

The apparent decision to rely on civil deportation proceedings rather than criminal charges, particularly in more egregious cases such as those who re-enter the country after being deported, contradicts Biden’s claim that he requires new authority from Congress to secure the border.

Criminal cases against illegal immigrants were effectively halted in April 2020, when courts were suspended due to the coronavirus outbreak. In March 2020, 4,000 illegals were charged with entry and 2,000 with felony reentry; by April, the figures had dropped to 671 and 960, respectively.

Criminal prosecutions for unauthorized entry remained almost nonexistent during the coronavirus lockdown period of the rest of 2020, with only 13 cases in December, while felony illegal reentry charges were half their previous levels.

In December 2023, the most recent month with data, just 708 persons were charged with illegal entry, and 1,236 with felony reentry. Compare this to December 2018, when the figures were approximately 7,000 and 2,000, respectively.

The pinnacle of criminal enforcement during the Trump administration occurred in June 2018, when the numbers were 9,500 and 2,237.

The shift is more than just a predictable divergence between Republican and Democratic administrations.

Rather, Biden has been more sympathetic towards illegal immigrants than Barack Obama, the Democratic president for whom he served as vice president.

In 2011, the Obama administration brought 37,000 significant cases referred by DHS — nearly twice as many as Biden did last year. However, after being re-elected for a second term, he steadily reduced that figure, eventually reaching 27,000 in 2016.
