Trump’s new Press Secretary is hitting the ground running. She’s signaling she will take no nonsense.
And the White House Press Secretary made a reporter look like a moron with a super simple answer.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt Stresses That All Illegal Immigrants Are Criminals
In a recent spar with ABC News Chief White House Correspondent Mary Bruce, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt made a bold statement, asserting that every illegal immigrant in the U.S. is a criminal. According to Leavitt, their violation of U.S. immigration laws automatically categorizes them as criminals. Karoline backs the Trump administration’s firm stance on immigration enforcement and its in-process mass deportation efforts.
Leavitt’s comments came amid a surge in arrests by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Since President Donald Trump’s return to office, ICE has made a priority of apprehending individuals with serious criminal backgrounds, including gang members and those convicted of heinous crimes such as s*x offenses, r*pe, and robbery. In the first week alone, ICE arrested approximately 3,500 individuals, many of whom were linked to criminal activities.
During the press briefing, Bruce pressed Leavitt for clarification on how many of the recent arrests involved individuals with criminal records versus those simply residing in the U.S. illegally. “3,500 arrests ICE has made so far since President Trump came back into office. Can you just tell us the numbers, how many have a criminal record versus those who are just in the country illegally?” Bruce asked.
Leavitt responded emphatically, stating, “All of them because they illegally broke our nation’s laws and therefore they are criminals as far as this administration goes.” She further explained that while previous administrations may not have viewed immigration violations as criminal acts, the Trump administration’s approach marks a cultural shift. “It’s a big culture shift in our nation to view someone who breaks our immigration laws as a criminal, but that’s what they are,” Leavitt said.
Deportations In Process And En Masse
The current deportation strategy under the Trump administration has been characterized by swift and targeted actions. ICE has ramped up its arrests, including large-scale operations that have led to hundreds of arrests over the past week. For instance, agents arrested 956 individuals on Sunday and an additional 1,100 on Monday. This surge in arrests significantly outpaces the average of 310 daily arrests made by ICE during the final year of the Biden administration.
Among the arrests were some particularly high-profile cases. On Thursday, ICE agents detained 538 individuals, including a suspected terrorist and four members of the Venezuelan prison gang Tren de Aragua. The operation also resulted in the apprehension of several individuals convicted of serious crimes, including s*x crimes against children. Border czar Tom Homan confirmed that at least 1,000 of the 1,300 people arrested by ICE that same day had criminal records.
In Massachusetts, agents arrested a Brazilian national wanted for armed robbery, an El Salvadoran national charged with r*pe, and a Dominican Republic national facing assault with a deadly weapon and heroin trafficking charges. In a particularly disturbing case, a Haitian gang member with 17 prior criminal convictions was arrested, praising former Presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden while stating he would not return to his home country.
Leavitt also confirmed that President Trump signed an executive order targeting non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that assist illegal immigrants. Under the order, these organizations risk losing federal funding if they continue to facilitate the entry of illegal immigrants into the U.S. Additionally, Leavitt told Daily Caller White House Correspondent Reagan Reese that the president signed another executive order aimed at streamlining the visa application process. The order directs Secretary of State Marco Rubio to review and ensure that foreign countries are transparent when providing necessary information to the U.S. government.

On his first day back in office, President Trump declared a national emergency at the U.S.-Mexico border. This move gives him access to additional resources to address the ongoing migrant crisis, which has been a point of contention during the Biden administration. The president also signed several other executive orders, including one aimed at revoking the birthright citizenship of children born to illegal immigrants and another to reinstate the “Remain in Mexico” policy.
Some of Donald Trump’s executive orders have been facing quick challenges from the courts all over the country, with the issue of birthright citizenship proving to be one of the most contentious legal battles that Americans can look forward to learning more baout as the courts unfold these cases. The U.S. Supreme Court has yet to comment on these legal battles yet, though it is expected for some of these cases to reach the High Court bench at some point in the next year or so.
Despite the court challenges and the pressure from maintsream media outlets on the Trump administration that the new deportation strategies are “inhumane” and “unethical,” Donald Trump and his allies are completely uninterested in slowing down the efforts at all. Trump’s border czar Tom Homan has said that the goal is for illegal immigration deportations to speed up as they get into a groove.
