Catholic bishops sent Joe Biden one demand that left him speechless
President Biden likes to pretend he’s a “devout” Catholic. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Now these Catholic bishops just sent Joe Biden one demand that left him speechless.
It’s no secret that Joe Biden and his fellow “Catholics” on the Left like Nancy Pelosi don’t even know what their own religion teaches.
Despite the Church’s absolute zero-tolerance policy for supporting abortion, Biden pushes abortion extremism.
Despite its teaching on the nuclear family of one man and one woman, he pushes radical social agendas on children.
But worst of all, he has been silent about the attacks on Catholic (and other Christian) churches across the country.
Well, the leaders of the Catholic Church in America are finally speaking out.
The bishops of the United States are requesting that Congress appropriate at least $200 million in federal cash for grants to improve security for houses of worship and other nonprofit organizations.
The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) requested lawmakers in a letter to congressional leaders last month that was made public this week to include more financing for the Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP) in a package that offers security assistance to Israel.
The U.S. government claims that the NSGP “provides funding support for target hardening and other physical security enhancements and activities to nonprofit organizations that are at high risk of terrorist attack.”
The awards, according to New York Archbishop Cardinal Timothy Dolan, leader of the USCCB’s Committee for Religious Liberty, “enable vulnerable communities to gather for worship, prayer, and service without fear of being attacked.”
Dolan noted in the letter that “the Jewish community is especially vulnerable,” noting “stories of attacks” since the Oct. 7 Hamas attack on Israel, as well as indications of an increase in antisemitic occurrences.
The Anti-Defamation League said in November that antisemitic incidents in the United States had increased by more than 300% year on year since the start of the Israel-Hamas conflict.
Meanwhile, in mid-October, Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio, a private Catholic university, accelerated the transfer procedure for Jewish students who had faced antisemitism at other campuses.
“Muslims are vulnerable, too,” the archbishop said, recalling the assassination of a 6-year-old Muslim Palestinian boy in Illinois, which resulted in first-degree murder charges being filed against the suspected attacker.
In recent years, there have also been numerous attacks against Catholic churches.
Since May 2020, the USCCB estimates that more than 300 attacks on Catholic churches have occurred in the United States.
Arson, such as the destruction of the sanctuary of St. Joseph Church in Salem, Oregon, and vandalism, such as the beheading of a Christ statue in Miami, are among the attacks.
In the letter, the archbishop stated that the American bishops were joining the Jewish Orthodox Union in requesting “at least $200 million for the NSGP” as part of the military aid package.
“We ask that you work to ensure that these funds can be made available quickly, in a manner appropriate to the dire situation,” Dolan wrote in a letter to the editor.
Dolan shouldn’t hold his breath.
