And now a Congressional investigation has gone rogue to uncover a serious crime from the Biden administration.
Republican Lawmakers Challenge DHS Over Potential Bias in New Intelligence Advisory Board
In a move highlighting concerns over political impartiality, Republican lawmakers have demanded transparency from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) regarding its newly-formed Homeland Intelligence Advisory Board. In a letter sent on Tuesday to DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, Representatives Mark Green of Tennessee and August Pfluger of Texas expressed apprehensions about the board’s potential for political bias.
Rep. Green, chair of the House Homeland Security Committee, and Rep. Pfluger, chair of the Subcommittee on Counterterrorism, Law Enforcement, and Intelligence, are particularly concerned that the advisory board is a rebranded version of the previously disbanded Homeland Security Experts Group. This group, criticized by conservatives for perceived political bias, was dissolved following a lawsuit. It included figures like former CIA Director John Brennan and former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, who were known for their stance that the Hunter Biden laptop controversy was a Russian disinformation campaign.
“The Committee is concerned that the Department claims the new Board will represent ‘diverse perspectives’ and ‘without regard for political affiliation,’ while it seeks to include the 19 members of the Experts Group when constituting the Board,” the lawmakers stated in their letter.
They also criticized the exemption of the board from the public notice, reporting, and open meeting requirements of the Federal Advisory Committee Act, as noted by the lawmakers.
The DHS announced the creation of the Homeland Intelligence Advisory Board in a press release in May, indicating that it would “seek to include” members from the previous Experts Group. This announcement has raised “serious concerns” among Republican lawmakers regarding the board’s commitment to transparency.
Biden Admin Reviving Unlawful Shadow Committee
The Homeland Security Experts Group was disbanded due to a lawsuit from America First Legal (AFL), which also uncovered documents suggesting the group had labeled support for Trump, religious beliefs, and veteran status as “indicators of extremists and terrorism.”
In their letter, the lawmakers have requested DHS to provide “all documents and communications” between DHS and the Executive Office of the President concerning the new advisory board. They also asked for disclosures of any potential conflicts of interest among the board members.
“The Committee has concerns that participants in the disbanded Experts Group, and newly-formed Board may provide biased contributions to the DHS Office of Intelligence and Analysis — possibly hindering efforts to provide useful and timely intelligence to relevant stakeholders, especially at a time when I&A faces serious challenges to complete its mission to help keep the homeland safe,” the letter concluded.
The Vast Implications of Executive Political Bias
The Executive Branch of the federal government has more control today than at any point in American history. Little is done by either of the two other branches of government to put the head of the executive office, the president, in check to prevent further power creep of the executive branch.
At one point, the Department of Justice was supposed to be under the purview of the executive branch, but politically independent of any party that might be in control of the White House administration. Today, it’s hardly imaginable that the Department of Justice could be impartial and blind to politics.
More Americans than ever believe that the Department of Justice is serving the agenda of the Biden administration in a way that no other presidential administration has directed the DOJ to serve them.
The same goes for the FBI, considering there have been multiple times when the FBI has been caught labeling Christian parents who go to school board meetings as potential “Christian Domestic Terrorists” in unapproved memos being circulated amongst agents.
The idea that the Department of Homeland Security could be using the government agency to shoehorn in the political agenda of the Homeland Security Experts Group that was shut down due to political bias concerns is simply shocking and disgusting.
There’s a reason why Americans don’t believe that justice, in general, is more fair today than it was 4 years ago, 10 years ago, or 20 years ago. It’s hard to imagine that another four years of the Biden administration would turn that around.
