And now an FBI raid on this leading Leftist turned up something you’ll never expect.
When it comes to politicians getting their just desserts, it usually depends on who they know.
If they are buddy-buddy with the ruling administration or have friends in high places, then they usually are fine.
But other times, they aren’t so lucky. And one woman is learning that the hard way.
Federal authorities searched the residence of Oakland Mayor Sheng Thao, a Democrat, on Thursday morning, according to reports and video footage.
According to the San Francisco Chronicle, three other residences were raided and are “connected to a politically influential family that runs the city’s curbside recycling program.”
More than a dozen agents entered the house and took several things from the search, including paper boxes, clipboards, and large plastic tubs.
According to the article, the other warrants were served at the homes of David Duong, president and CEO of recycling company Cal Waste Solutions, his son Andy Duong, and their respective company offices.
“The FBI is conducting court authorized law enforcement activity on Maiden Lane,” the FBI said in a statement.
“We are unable to provide additional information at this time.”
Investigative reporter Dan Noyes said that law enforcement sources told him the raid was part of a “public corruption investigation of Thao and her boyfriend.”
Noyes said that the IRS and the United States Postal Service are apparently involved in the probe as well.

The announcement comes as other Democrats, including Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ), Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX), and Hunter Biden, have been the targets of federal criminal investigations in recent months.
Federal agents have reportedly taken gadgets from New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D) and raided locations connected to George Soros-backed District Attorney Jody Owens.
Some have said that these may just be distractions.
If the Biden administration can give off the appearance of cracking down on corruption and crime in their own ranks, maybe they can gin up their base and even some independents.
The problem is that it’s a pretty crystal clear gambit. And Americans know who they want to vote for – they aren’t stupid.
