Democrats’ Corrupt Witch Hunts Against Trump Unraveled by New Evidence

The relentless campaign by Democrats to undermine Donald Trump through fabricated investigations is unraveling, as fresh evidence exposes the manipulative tactics employed during the Mueller investigation from President Trump’s first term. A recent letter from U.S. Attorney Ed Martin to former Mueller prosecutor Aaron Zelinsky reveals a pattern of deception aimed at convicting innocent individuals to perpetuate a false narrative of Trump-Russia collusion. This development marks a critical turning point in exposing the corrupt practices that have long tainted Democratic efforts to target Trump and his associates.

Ed Martin, serving as interim U.S. Attorney for Washington, D.C. since January 20, 2025, and nominated by Trump for the permanent role, penned a scathing letter to Zelinsky, who resigned from the Justice Department following Trump’s 2024 election victory. Martin’s letter, dated Monday, questions the integrity of Zelinsky’s actions during the Mueller probe, which failed to substantiate claims of Trump campaign collusion with Russia. The letter also scrutinizes Zelinsky’s past ties to a Chinese Communist Party-linked law school, raising concerns about his conduct and affiliations during and after the investigation.

“Declassified Federal Bureau of Investigation documents released under federal Freedom of Information laws have raised questions about the integrity and legality of your work as a federal prosecutor in the Robert Mueller special counsel investigation — a probe which failed to prove then-candidate Donald Trump’s campaign colluded with Russia and is now known to be falsely predicated,” Martin wrote. This statement underscores the growing evidence that the Mueller investigation was built on a foundation of falsehoods, designed to smear Trump and his allies, including former campaign associate George Papadopoulos.

At the heart of this controversy is Papadopoulos, who was targeted and convicted for allegedly making false statements during the Mueller probe. Martin’s letter points to a 2016 conversation Papadopoulos had with Joseph Mifsud, a mysterious professor whose interactions with Papadopoulos were used to fuel the collusion narrative. In an August 2018 sentencing memo, Zelinsky and other Mueller prosecutors claimed that Papadopoulos’s “lies undermined investigators’ ability to challenge the Professor [Joseph Mifsud] or potentially detain or arrest him while he was still in the United States.” Martin counters this, asserting that “due to your false statements, it appears you sent an innocent man to jail in an attempt to advance the false narrative that the campaign of a serving President had colluded with Russia.”

The U.S. Attorney’s accusations are damning, suggesting that Zelinsky knowingly pushed a false narrative to justify Papadopoulos’s conviction. “It also appears you knew this narrative to be false,” Martin wrote, calling this a clear case of “weaponization of federal government powers.” This aligns with Trump’s January 2025 executive order aimed at ending such abuses within the federal government. Martin’s invitation to Zelinsky for a voluntary meeting to discuss these discrepancies, along with his 2012 tenure at Peking University’s Transnational School of Law, were an obvious effort to hold accountable those who orchestrated these politically motivated investigations.

Zelinsky’s response to the scrutiny has been to align himself with anti-Trump sentiments, positioning himself as part of “The Resistance.” After resigning from the Justice Department on January 10, 2025, Zelinsky announced on LinkedIn, “I am furious, heartbroken, and disappointed (but sadly not surprised) at what the President and his appointees are doing to DOJ — an attempt to build a government of men, not of laws.”

His subsequent interviews and posts, including a February statement that “Foreign bad actors are consistently trying to interfere in our domestic elections,” reveal a continued effort to cast Trump’s administration as a threat to democracy, even as evidence mounts of his own questionable actions during the Mueller probe.

The Papadopoulos case exemplifies the Democrats’ strategy of using flimsy pretexts to target Trump associates. Codenamed Crossfire Typhoon by the FBI’s Crossfire Hurricane team, Papadopoulos pleaded guilty to a false statements charge in October 2017 and served 14 days in prison. However, Papadopoulos maintains his innocence, stating, “I think the letter [from Martin] is a good first step but we need to scrutinize why special counsel John Durham said that the ‘investigation’ did not start the way that Crossfire Hurricane investigators and AG Horowitz said it did and why the official predicate was illegal.” His call for further declassification underscores the need for transparency in exposing the corrupt origins of the investigation.

The Mueller report itself is riddled with inconsistencies, particularly regarding Mifsud’s role. It claims Papadopoulos “made false statements in an effort to minimize the extent and importance of his communications with Mifsud,” hindering the FBI’s ability to question Mifsud effectively. Yet, Mifsud, who allegedly lied to the FBI during a February 2017 interview, was never charged and was allowed to leave the U.S. the following day. This raises serious questions about why Mueller’s team pursued Papadopoulos aggressively while letting Mifsud walk free, further exposing the selective prosecution driven by political motives.

Former Rep. Devin Nunes has been vocal about the discrepancies in the Mueller team’s actions, noting that FBI interview notes show Papadopoulos was cooperative and provided information that could have helped locate Mifsud. “The lawyers that wrote that to the court, that recommendation to the court, they need to be held accountable,” Nunes stated in 2020. His assertion that Mueller’s prosecutors misled the courts aligns with Martin’s current efforts to confront Zelinsky and others involved in the probe, signaling a renewed push to uncover the truth behind these corrupt practices.

The involvement of FBI informant Stefan Halper adds another layer of intrigue. Declassified documents reveal Halper was paid nearly $1.2 million over three decades and met with Papadopoulos in 2016, alongside a woman posing as his assistant. These interactions were part of a move to entrap Trump campaign members, yet exculpatory statements from Papadopoulos denying Russian assistance were concealed from the FISA court. The 2023 Durham report confirms this, noting that “none of Papadopoulos’s exculpatory statements to CHS-2 regarding his lack of knowledge of assistance from the Russians to the Trump campaign were included in the succeeding Page FISA renewal applications.”

The mysterious figure of Mifsud remains a focal point of contention. Despite being central to the collusion narrative, Mifsud was never thoroughly investigated by Mueller or Durham. Rep. Tom Massie and former Rep. Matt Gaetz pressed Durham on this failure, with Gaetz exclaiming, “Hard to say who Mifsud is? He’s the guy who started the whole thing. We’ve known it for years.” The inability to pin down Mifsud’s true affiliations—whether with Western intelligence or Russian entities—further fuels suspicions of a coordinated effort to fabricate the collusion story.

Zelinsky’s ties to a CCP-linked university also cast a shadow over his credibility. His brief stint as an adjunct professor at Peking University in 2012, omitted from his current law firm biography, raises questions about potential foreign influences during his time on the Mueller team. Martin’s letter probing these connections suggests that the investigation into Zelinsky’s actions may extend beyond his prosecutorial misconduct and to his professional history, potentially revealing deeper layers of corruption.

The exposure of these corrupt witch hunts is a critical step toward restoring trust in the justice system. As Martin’s investigation into Zelinsky and the Mueller probe continues, the American public is beginning to see the extent of the Democrats’ efforts to weaponize federal institutions against their political adversaries. Papadopoulos’s ordeal, coupled with the mounting evidence of prosecutorial misconduct, serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of unchecked power. The pursuit of truth in this saga is not just about vindicating Trump and his associates—it’s about ensuring that justice prevails over partisan vendettas.
