Trump Reflects on His Second Term, Attacks Democrats for Missteps and Loss of Confidence
In a candid conversation with radio host Mark Levin on Monday, President Donald Trump shared his thoughts on his second term, noting that it has been a “much different” experience compared to his first. He attributed the change to several factors, most notably the drastic loss of confidence within the Democratic Party following his historic win.
Trump reflected on his 2024 victory, which included both a triumph in the Electoral College and a victory in the popular vote. According to him, the Democrats have struggled to regain their footing in the aftermath of his success. With midterm elections looming, the party has found it difficult to consolidate a unified message, creating a sense of disarray among their ranks.
Levin asked Trump whether he viewed his second term differently, questioning if his previous experience allowed him to “really grab this by the throat, by the neck.” Trump was quick to acknowledge that his second term has certainly been a marked departure from his first.
“Much different. Number one, I know a lot of people. I didn’t know anybody. I wasn’t in the world of Washington, D.C.,” Trump said. He further described the aftermath of his victory, pointing out the decline in confidence among the Left-wing factions. “But the radical left, they really lost their confidence. It was a bad election defeat. They lost everything, presidentially.”
He continued, “They’ve lost their confidence. They’ve lost the strut. They’re a bunch of real bad, very bad people. Very, very bad people. I actually think they’re sick people, if you want to know the truth.” According to Trump, the Left’s current demeanor has shifted significantly, with many within the party becoming more reserved and cautious. He also highlighted the stronger support he enjoys compared to his first term.
Trump also took the opportunity to tout the success of his own victory, calling attention to the magnitude of his electoral win. “I won the popular vote by millions of votes. I won all seven swing states. You remember you and I talked, and it looked like I was going to win, do well. But nobody, you just don’t win all seven. I won all seven and won them easily,” Trump explained. “Won states that generally aren’t won by Republicans, won them by a lot.”
The president emphasized the strength of his mandate, expressing confusion over why the Democrats appeared so taken aback by his success. “So we have a big mandate. I don’t know why they should be surprised, but they are taking it hard.”
Kamala Harris Hit By Trump Once More
Trump also directed criticism toward the Democrats’ use of celebrity endorsements during the campaign, particularly highlighting former Vice President Kamala Harris’ effort to leverage Hollywood’s star power. Harris enlisted celebrities like Oprah Winfrey, Megan Thee Stallion, and Beyoncé to help boost her image and appeal to voters. However, Trump was quick to call out what he believed was an attempt to “buy” endorsements.
“They go out and they pay Beyonce, as an example. Somebody just showed me something. They gave her $11 million. For what? For an endorsement, I guess, because she didn’t sing. They paid Oprah $2 million. They even paid a scam artist named Al Sharpton, total scam artist, to honor Broly,” Trump remarked.
He described this strategy as a “scam,” suggesting that the public had grown wise to the tactics employed by Harris and her team. “It’s all a scam. But the good news is the public understands it. The public has gotten wise to it. They’ve seen it.” Trump expressed disbelief at the significant sums spent on celebrity endorsements, questioning the value of such investments.
“How do you pay Beyonce $11 million?” Trump asked. “They also ran out of money. They have no money. They spent $2.7 billion, and they can’t raise the final $28 million that they’ve been looking for for a long time.”
The aftermath of Harris’ campaign has not been without its challenges, particularly within the Democratic National Committee (DNC). Despite receiving substantial backing from numerous billionaires, Harris not only lost the election to Trump, but her campaign reportedly left the DNC in significant debt. The DNC’s financial struggles were compounded by an inability to raise the final $28 million needed to meet their goals.
This financial turmoil led to the firing of hundreds of DNC employees, leaving many members shocked by the lack of accountability in handling campaign funds. The internal fallout and the party’s inability to close the financial gap added to the overall sense of disarray within the Democratic establishment.
