Hegseth isn’t messing around. He means what he says.
And Pete Hegseth just went nuclear on this foreign adversary.
War Secretary Pete Hegseth drew a hard line against the communist outpost in Cuba this week, making it crystal clear that any move to arm itself with weapons aimed at American forces or soil would cross a dangerous threshold.
During a visit to the vital U.S. naval base at Guantánamo Bay, Hegseth left no room for misunderstanding.
He joined American troops for their physical training in the morning, then delivered a message rooted in strength and resolve.
“It would be unwise for the government of Cuba to try to procure or get access to the types of weapons that can reach this bay or the American homeland,” Hegseth stated.
“They would be inviting the kind of confrontation that they not only don’t want, but they could not stand.”
This firm stance sends a necessary message to America’s adversaries.
The United States will not sit idle while a failing communist regime builds tools of aggression right on our doorstep.
“We hope soon that we can be a friend to the leadership of Cuba,” Hegseth continjued.
“For now, let’s see what happens, but the Department of War will give the Commander in Chief every single option he needs.”
