The mainstream media is at it again. They can’t stand anyone who puts America first.
Now a CNN anchor totally melted down after hearing what one Republican had to say.
CNN anchor Abby Phillip couldn’t hide her exasperation Monday night as she sparred with Republican commentator Scott Jennings on CNN NewsNight.
The clash erupted when Jennings boldly asserted that illegal alien gang members don’t deserve the same rights as American citizens—a stance that sent sparks flying across the studio.
Jennings laid it out plain and simple: he sees U.S. citizens and illegal immigrants in “a different category.” Crossing the southern border without papers, he argued, shouldn’t automatically unlock the full suite of citizen privileges for just anyone who strolls in.
Phillip fired back, drawing a sharp parallel between the U.S. deporting criminal gang members—many with violent rap sheets on top of their illegal entry—and authoritarian regimes like Russia locking up Americans without a fair shake.
“Isn’t this exactly what we denounce other countries for doing? Not giving our own citizens, when they get wrongfully detained around the world, our own citizens, the due process that they deserve?” she pressed.
Jennings didn’t flinch. “Well, I think that multiple things could be true,” he replied coolly. “Number one, I delineate between American citizens and everyone else. If you’re a U.S. citizen, I put you in a different category.”
“On due process, that’s not a distinction that the law makes,” Phillip cut in, her tone sharpening.
Undeterred, Jennings powered on as Phillip tried to jump in. “If you come here—if you’ve come here and broken our laws,” he said, “And committed violent acts or m*rdered and r*ped, whatever, I put you in a different category.”
“On due process, that is not a distinction,” Phillip doubled down, holding her ground.
Jennings leaned in, throwing down the gauntlet. “If you’d like to argue that Tren de Aragua should have the same rights that you get as an American citizen, go ahead! You’re saying that a terrorist can walk across the border and become effectively a U.S. citizen?”
“Scott?! Hello?! Hold on! Scott. Look at me,” Phillip interjected, her frustration boiling over.
“Okay? You and I are talking. I’m talking to you. What I’m saying is that the law does not make a distinction between U.S. citizens and everybody else when it comes to being accused of crimes. Are you saying that should not be in place?”
Jennings didn’t back off. “These people are effectively terrorists. They walked across our borders illegally. They are violent, and I don’t really want them here,” he said, conceding the government would eventually need to track who’s been rounded up and shipped out.
“There is no doubt that the Trump administration is rounding up, effectively, terrorists who came across here illegally, committed horrific acts and do not need to be in this country.”
“They are doing that, perhaps, but they’re also doing a lot of other things, too,” Phillip countered, leaving the debate crackling in the air.
