President Donald Trump didn’t hold back this weekend, blasting the FBI for planting undercover agents right in the heart of the January 6 crowd. It’s the kind of revelation that peels back the curtain on years of government deceit.
In a Truth Social post, Trump laid it out plain: “It was just revealed that the FBI had secretly placed, against all Rules, Regulations, Protocols, and Standards, 274 FBI Agents into the Crowd just prior to, and during, the January 6th Hoax.”
Trump didn’t stop there, calling out the blatant contradictions from the top. “This is different from what Director Christopher Wray stated, over and over again!” he continued. “I want to know who each and every one of these so-called ‘Agents’ are, and what they were up to on that now ‘Historic’ Day.”
And he saved his sharpest jab for the man at the helm: “Christopher Wray, the then Director of the FBI, has some major explaining to do. That’s two in a row, Comey and Wray.”
The details get murkier the deeper you dig. That initial report hinted at 274 plainclothes operatives mixed in with protesters.
FBI Director Kash Patel, Trump’s pick to clean house, jumped in to set the record straight on Fox News. “Agents were sent into a crowd control mission after the riot was declared by Metro Police – something that goes against FBI standards,” Patel said.
He nailed the rot at the core: “This was the failure of a corrupt leadership that lied to Congress and to the American people about what really happened.”
Patel’s got the whistleblowers stepping up now, and it’s paying off. “Thanks to agents coming forward, we are now uncovering the truth. We are fully committed to transparency, and justice and accountability continues with this FBI.”
Remember that Justice Department watchdog report from last year? It swore up and down there were no undercover feds in the mix—no employees stirring the pot at the Capitol.
But flip some pages over, and it admits to 26 confidential sources embedded in the crowd. Four of them even waltzed into the building without clearance. So which is it—clean hands or a setup?
This mess has sparked real action on Capitol Hill. Just weeks ago, House Republicans rammed through a vote to launch a fresh subcommittee laser-focused on January 6. No more kid gloves; they’re hauling in the truth, piece by gritty piece.
Subcommittee chair Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-Ga.) isn’t mincing words either. “With that many paid informants being in the crowd, we want to know how many were in the crowd, how many were in the building, but I also want to know, were they paid to inform or instigate?”
Wray himself swore under oath last year that the FBI had zero hand in the chaos. “If you’re asking if the violence at the Capitol was part of some operation orchestrated by FBI sources or agents, the answer is no!” he told lawmakers. But with leaks piling up like this, his denials ring hollower than a politician’s promise.
The hits keep coming for the old guard. Thursday brought indictments for James Comey, Wray’s predecessor, on charges of lying to Congress about leaking details on probes into Trump and Hillary Clinton. The timing? Razor-thin, just days shy of the statute running out. Justice delayed, but not quite denied.
Trump’s response to all this January 6 injustice? A sweeping pardon earlier this year for protesetors convicted in the melee. “Many Great American Patriots were made to pay a very big price only for the love of their Country. I owe this investigation of ‘Dirty Cops and Crooked Politicians to them!” he declared.
This January 6 expose isn’t just old wounds reopening—it’s fuel for the fight ahead. With Patel at the FBI’s helm, Comey in the docket, and Trump’s pardons setting patriots free, the deep state is cornered.
