In a move that’s got the Washington elites squirming, Michigan Democrat Rep. Haley Stevens declared war on Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. this Thursday. She’s gearing up to slap him with articles of impeachment, claiming he’s turned the department upside down in ways that don’t sit well with the establishment crowd.
Stevens didn’t hold back, blasting Kennedy for what she sees as a total betrayal of his role. She argues he’s trashed his oath and shown he’s not cut out for the job, all while pushing policies that challenge the status quo on health and science.
“RFK Jr. is making our country less safe and making healthcare less affordable and accessible for Michiganders,” Stevens stated. “His contempt for science, the constant spreading of conspiracy theories, and his complete disregard for the thousands of research hours spent by America’s top doctors and experts is unprecedented, reckless, and dangerous.”
People on the right see this as just another desperate swipe from the left against anyone daring to question Big Pharma’s grip. Kennedy’s been shaking things up at HHS, and that’s exactly why the swamp creatures are circling.
“Enough is enough – we need leaders who put science over chaos, facts over lies, and people over politics, which is why I am announcing today that I have begun drafting articles of impeachment against Secretary Kennedy.”
Stevens laid out her hit list, zeroing in on Kennedy’s slashes to funding for certain medical studies. She calls it a straight-up abandonment of his responsibilities, like he’s dodging the basics of running HHS, especially when it comes to overseeing the FDA and CDC.
She’s furious that Kennedy cleared out the entire CDC vaccine advisory panel. In her view, that’s nothing short of injecting politics into the FDA, turning neutral ground into a battlefield.
Of course, Kennedy supporters fire back that these moves are long overdue, aimed at rooting out corruption and conflicts of interest that have plagued these agencies for years under previous administrations.
The core of her impeachment push hammers on Kennedy’s stance on vaccines. Stevens claims his policies are slamming the brakes on access and peddling wild tales that endanger lives and jack up costs for everyday Americans.
She points fingers at his call to drop federal nods for COVID-19 jabs aimed at pregnant women and kids who are otherwise healthy, plus axing studies tied to mRNA tech.
Then there’s the acetaminophen angle—Stevens rips into what she dubs “wild and unfounded claims” Kennedy dropped at the White House, tying the stuff in Tylenol to autism as a ploy to curb its use.
Kennedy’s camp might argue he’s just shining a light on overlooked risks, giving parents the info they deserve instead of force-feeding one-size-fits-all mandates.
Stevens also accuses him of flat-out fibbing during his Senate confirmation. She says he promised HELP Committee Chairman Bill Cassidy, a Louisiana Republican, that he’d keep the CDC’s vaccine panel intact, no tweaks.
Now, with that panel gutted, she’s painting it as a breach of trust that demands congressional payback.
“Secretary Kennedy has violated his oath of office and proven himself unfit to serve the American people,” Stevens stated. “Congress must act to hold him accountable, and I intend to lead the charge to remove him from office.”
This impeachment talk comes at a time when Kennedy’s reforms are gaining traction among populists tired of endless lockdowns, forced shots, and bloated health bureaucracies. Stevens’ crusade might just rally more support for RFK Jr., exposing the Democrats’ fear of real change.
