And a Democrat candidate was caught on camera saying a truly disturbing thing.
James Talarico, the leftist nominee for U.S. Senate in Texas, made clear in a recent undercover video that his stance on issues surrounding transgenderism remains fixed.
The clip, recorded on September 13 at Houston’s Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church, shows him speaking to a woman who presented herself as a supporter.
Per the Daily Wire, the woman asked whether Talarico would stand up for her “niece who is trans” and protect that niece’s chance to play in women’s sports.
“Always,” Talarico stated in response.
“The way I fought for trans kids in the legislature is how I will fight for them in the U.S. Senate. And my position hasn’t changed.”
He went on to defend what he called a flexible approach.
“I still think these should be local decisions, sport by sport, athlete by athlete, and I think I have the most inclusive policy of any candidate who’s running,” Talarico continued.
“So I know things are getting clipped and stuff, but my views, my position hasn’t changed.”
This exchange lands at a moment when many Americans have grown tired of watching biological males enter female athletic competitions and walk away with trophies, scholarships, and records that once belonged to girls.
Parents across the state have watched their daughters lose opportunities in track, swimming, and volleyball while officials look the other way.
