And Chuck Schumer admitted to a deplorable action on live TV.
On Tuesday, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer told reporters that in order to drive $60 billion in additional aid for Ukraine through Congress, he attempted to guilt House Speaker Mike Johnson to allow a vote on the plan in the House.
Johnson has been hesitant to go forward with the money for the foreign war, and he has made it clear that despite Schumer’s efforts, his opinion remains unchanged.

Johnson has emphasized that Ukraine will not receive assistance unless strong border security measures are implemented.
“We said to the Speaker, ‘Get it done’,” Schumer said.
“I said I’ve been around here a long time, it’s maybe four or five times that history is looking over your shoulder, and if you don’t do the right thing, whatever the immediate politics are, you will regret it … two years from now and every year after that.”
The senator stated that it was “in [Johnson’s] hands” now, and that he and his colleague had given the Speaker a “passionate” defense of funding the war.
“I talked about my trip to Ukraine where I met soldiers who had Russian artillery in range … but had no ammunition to fire at it,” he said.

“It was the consensus in that room, Zelensky and Ukraine will lose the war if we don’t get the arms and don’t get them quickly.”
Speaking to reporters shortly after, Johnson restated his long-standing position that his first objective is to meet America’s needs.
Schumer’s claim that Johnson was the sole hope for Ukraine’s survival echoed comments made by national security adviser Jake Sullivan in a CNN interview on Sunday.
“There is a strong bipartisan majority in the House standing ready to pass this bill if it comes to the floor,” he said.
“That decision rests on the shoulders of one person, and history is watching whether Speaker Johnson will put that bill on the floor. If he does, it will pass, we will get Ukraine what it needs for Ukraine to succeed. If he doesn’t, then we will not be able to give Ukraine the tools required for it to stand up to Russia, and Putin will be the major beneficiary of that.”
The truth is that America is tired of being put last.
Why should we care what happens to Ukraine when our own politicians don’t care what happens to us?
Chuck should look at the American people if he wants a reason for his Ukraine spending bonanza not moving forward, not Republican leadership.
