Nancy Pelosi used to hold so much sway in the Democrat Party.
She called the shots and every Democrat in the House fell in line.
But now the walls are closing in and there’s nothing she can do.
Because Pelosi has been subpoenaed in a criminal case in California, according to a U.S. House officer.
In the House chamber, Reading Clerk Tylease Alli read a message from Pelosi to the speaker in accordance with House rules governing how members should handle judicial subpoenas and orders that are “properly” served.
“This is to notify you formally pursuant to Rule 8 of the Rules of the House of Representatives, that I, the honorable Nancy Pelosi, speaker emerita, and U.S. representative for the 11th Congressional District of California, have been served with third-party subpoenas from the prosecution and the defendant to produce documents in a criminal case in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California,” she said.

“After consultation with the Office of General Counsel, I have determined that compliance with the subpoenas is consistent with the privileges and rights of the House,” the statement continued.
“To the extent it requires production of nonprivileged information, the responses to the subpoenas will be identical.”
There was no mention of a specific case related to the subpoenas.
According to Punchbowl News co-founder Jake Sherman, Pelosi’s staff declined to comment on ongoing legal concerns.
The announcement comes as the federal case against David DePape, the man charged in the home invasion attack on Pelosi’s husband Paul in San Francisco almost a year ago, is slated to go to trial this month.
DePape has pleaded not guilty to both federal and state accusations, which could place him in prison for decades if he is convicted.
According to reports, the Pelosis permitted lawyers for DePape access to their house in August for an inspection of the murder scene and requested a court order on how the material gained from the study would be handled.
Nancy Pelosi has been a San Francisco area representative since 1987 and has spent two terms as House speaker, the most recent of which ended at the start of the current session of Congress when Republicans took control of the body.
She chose not to continue in leadership, but she did obtain the title “speaker emerita.” Pelosi, 83, indicated in September that she would run for re-election in 2024.
