Mitch McConnell just dropped a retirement bombshell
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s health has been a major issue. Many are wondering if this is the end of the road.
And Mitch McConnell dropped a retirement bombshell that stunned everyone.
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) indicated in an interview over the weekend that he had “completely recovered” from previous health difficulties.
McConnell made the statements during a Sunday interview with CBS News’ Margaret Brennan on Face The Nation, which was mostly about foreign policy issues affecting wars abroad.
“People wonder about your health, how are you feeling?” Brennan inquired.
“How are you doing?”
The questions arose after McConnell fell twice earlier this year, hurting his head on one of them.
After growing dehydrated and lightheaded, McConnell froze up while speaking to the media in following occurrences.
“I’m fine. I’m completely recovered, and I’m just fine,” he answered.
“You and your office felt the need to share and disclose some of the details about your health because of some of these public incidents,” Brennan responded.
“And the doctor here said there was no evidence of Parkinson’s disease or a stroke or a seizure.”
“And I wonder, is there anything the public should know that wasn’t disclosed?” she asked.
McConnell answered, “I’m in good shape, completely recovered and back on the job.”
Brennan continued to press on the matter, asking, “Does that mean that you think you are able to continue serving, and you want to continue serving here at a time when we are talking about incredible dysfunction in Washington?”
“I think we ought to be talking about what we were talking about earlier, rather than my health,” McConnell said.

It’s curious that McConnell refused to give a straight answer as to his future plans in Washington.
Could he be gearing up for an exit from Capitol Hill?
