Not only are they the most informed person on Earth thanks to America’s intelligence agencies, but they’re the number one target for enemies of the USA.
Unfortunately for them, they aren’t safe even after they leave office.
People can still hold grudges against politicians for what they do long after ending their career.
And the classified information presidents have is a valuable resource for others.
This is a major reason every living president gets lifetime Secret Service protection.
And former President Barack Obama sure is lucky they were at his house this time.
On Thursday, federal authorities detained a man who reportedly made threats against former President Barack Obama and who was wanted on crimes relating to the January 6, 2021, incident at the United States Capitol.
The suspect, identified by NBC News and CBS News as 37-year-old Taylor Taranto, was apparently discovered a few blocks from Obama’s residence and, when pursued, allegedly took off running toward the home, but was apprehended before he got there.
CBS News said that the suspect had a history of making “disturbing social media threats against a public figure,” according to law enforcement sources, and had “an open warrant on charges related to the Jan. 6, 2021″ riot.

Taylor Taranto, 37, of no fixed address, was arrested in the 2400 block of Kalorama Rd NW. He has been charged with Fugitive from Justice, pursuant to an arrest warrant. Arresting officers requested MPD's EOD Team to perform a vehicle sweep of the individual's van. #MPD pic.twitter.com/kC9C3wpk2u

The story said that he had “weapons” with him when he was arrested.
Nadia Bilbassy Charters of Al Arabiya reported on Twitter that the suspect allegedly “threatened to bomb” Obama’s home.
Federal law enforcement told CBS News that the suspect had “weapons and materials to make an explosive” on him and that they had been keeping an eye on him because he had recently made some dangerous comments online.
According to NBC News, the suspect had been living out of his van in recent weeks, and his most recent social media post was “a link to a website touting conspiracy theories about the Obama’s home.”
The Metropolitan Police Department said that the suspect was caught because he had a warrant out for his arrest and was charged with escaping justice.
