Democrat U.S. Senator charged as a foreign agent by Biden’s DOJ

Americans knew our enemies were at the gates. But no one expected them to have infiltrated Congress already.

And this Democrat U.S. Senator was charged as a foreign agent by Biden’s DOJ.

On Thursday, a federal grand jury delivered a superseding indictment that includes an additional count of allegedly working as a foreign agent against Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ).

Menendez, his wife, and one of the alleged bribery plot participants “willfully and knowingly combined, conspired, confederated, and agreed together and with each other to have” Menendez “act as an agent” of the Egyptian government, according to the indictment.

Prosecutors claim Menendez “provided sensitive U.S. Government information and took other steps that secretly aided the Government of Egypt.”

Last month, the original indictment against Menendez, his wife, and three businessmen was unsealed, alleging that he and his wife had a corrupt relationship with New Jersey businessmen Wael Hana, Jose Uribe, and Fred Daibes, who allegedly gave the senator bribes worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.

The bribes, according to the DOJ, were designed to safeguard the merchants while also benefiting Egypt.

“Those bribes included cash, gold, payments toward a home mortgage, compensation for a low-or-no-show job, a luxury vehicle, and other things of value,” according to the complaint.

Federal agents allegedly discovered gold bars and cash stashed throughout the senator’s residence, which they linked to the businesspeople Menendez allegedly worked with.

“Over $480,000 in cash — much of it stuffed into envelopes and hidden in clothing, closets, and a safe — was discovered in the home,” according to the complaint.

The indictment includes photos of gold bars and hundred-dollar bills that had been put in garments.

Menendez is also accused of ghostwriting a letter to other senators urging them to support lifting a moratorium on $300 million in military aid to Egypt, a document that was purportedly crafted in collaboration with his wife and the businesspeople in issue.

Other sections of the indictment center on Menendez’s participation with IS EG Halal, a company authorities claim was used to funnel bribery money, and one of the businessman’s alleged payments for a Mercedes Benz used by Nadine Menendez.

The irony, of course, is Biden and his family are accused of running favors for foreigners too.

In fact, back in July, the Justice Department was sued in an effort to force Hunter Biden to register as a foreign agent.

As the New York Post reported at the time:

The America First Legal Foundation argues that Hunter, 53, must register under the Foreign Agents Registration Act for his lucrative work on behalf of Chinese and Ukrainian figures, including during his father’s vice presidency.

“The defendants’ refusal to require Mr. Biden to register as a foreign agent denies America First Legal information which must be publicly disclosed pursuant to the Foreign Agents Registration Act, and for which it has a statutory right,” the lawsuit says.

The filing asks the US District Court for the District of Columbia to “compel the defendants to require Mr. Biden to register as a foreign agent in compliance with the Foreign Agent Registration Act.”
