President Biden ended a public White House event Sunday night with a series of jabs aimed at both reporters and President-elect Donald Trump, showcasing the frustration and bitterness that have defined much of his presidency.
After signing the Social Security Fairness Act, Biden addressed a few audience questions, one of which reignited his attacks on Trump.
When asked by a reporter, “Do you still believe he’s a threat to democracy?” Biden replied, “I think what he did was a genuine threat to democracy.”
His words reflected the same partisan blame-shifting that has been a hallmark of his administration, often used to deflect attention from his own failings.
When confronted about Trump’s plan to end birthright citizenship, Biden didn’t stick to the issue at hand.
Instead, he turned his fire on the press corps.
“I might be the oldest president, but I know more world leaders than any one of you have ever met in your whole godd*mn life!” Biden snapped.
This outburst, far from projecting confidence, only underscored his growing tendency toward abrasive and undignified rhetoric.
Critics quickly took to X to highlight Biden’s latest misstep.
“He’s fine guys,” journalist Salena Zito quipped sarcastically.
Steve Guest called Biden a “bitter person,” while RedState writer Bonchie lambasted his arrogance, writing, “It doesn’t matter that Biden is an abject failure and the worst foreign policy figure in American history. You see, he knows a lot of people, and that’s all that matters.”
CNN conservative commentator Scott Jennings also weighed in with biting irony, saying, “The most civil, decent, and devoutly Catholic president we’ve ever had.”
This isn’t the first time Biden has lashed out at the press.
In November, when asked about the potential for a hostage deal between Hamas and Israel before his term ends, Biden mocked an Israeli journalist, sarcastically retorting, “Do you think you can keep from getting hit in the head by a — a camera behind you?”
In 2022, Biden was caught referring to Fox News’ Peter Doocy as a “stupid son of a b—-” after being asked about inflation as a political liability. While Biden later called Doocy to claim the comment wasn’t personal, the damage to his image was already done.
These moments highlight a troubling pattern: a president increasingly unable to handle scrutiny or dissent with poise, resorting instead to petty insults and tirades.
As Biden nears the end of his term, these outbursts only add to the growing sense of frustration with his leadership.
