Everyone knows there is no love between Trump and Biden. But no one thought Joe would put the Don in physical danger.

According to accounts, Donald Trump’s security detail requested additional resources in the weeks preceding Saturday’s assassination attempt, which the Biden administration declined.
A conservative legal group immediately initiated an investigation into the incident.
Sean Davis, CEO and co-founder of The Federalist, posted on X (previously Twitter) Saturday night that Trump’s “detail has been asking for beefed up protection and resources for weeks, but has been rebuffed time and again by Biden’s [Department of Homeland Security (DHS)].”
According to a source named by Davis, the DHS “wasn’t responsive to those requests.”
“Was Biden’s regime behind the attack, or did it deliberately do everything it could to allow it to happen?” Davis asked.
Also on Saturday night, America First Legal said that it will initiate an “urgent investigation into Biden’s DHS for allegedly denying President Trump additional Secret Service protections.”
Stephen Miller, Trump’s former senior adviser, formed America First Legal, a charity organization.
America First Legal submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the DHS, seeking:
1. All communications between the United States Secret Service and any email address ending in ‘@hq.dhs.gov’ relating to the protective detail of former President Donald J. Trump.
2. All records in the custody of Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, Senior Official Performing the Duties of Deputy Secretary, Kristie Canegallo, and any other official in the DHS Front Office pertaining to increased security for former President Donald J. Trump.
3. Records of all documents and communications from the Office of Intelligence and Analysis and the DHS Front Office or United States Secret Service relating to threats against President Trump.
Democrats have already pushed to revoke Trump of his Secret Service protections, which he is entitled to for the rest of his life under a 1965 provision passed by Congress.
In April, FOX News reported: “House Democrats have introduced a bill that would strip Secret Service protection from convicted felons sentenced to prison, a move directly targeting former President Trump.”
FOX continued:
Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., the former chair of the now disbanded Jan. 6 congressional committee, introduced legislation that would automatically nix Secret Service protection for those who have been convicted of a federal or state felony that carries a minimum one-year prison term.
The proposed bill is provocatively called the ‘Denying Infinite Security and Government Resources Allocated toward Convicted and Extremely Dishonorable (DISGRACED) Former Protectees Act.’
A field director for Thompson, the bill’s main sponsor, posted on Facebook Saturday night, expressing disappointment that the gunman’s bullet missed Trump’s brain.
The aide, Jacqueline Marsaw, wrote “please get you some shooting lessons so you don’t miss next time.” Marsaw prefaced the remark, “I don’t condone political violence but…”
According to The Washington Times, Marsaw “got overwhelmed in the moment” and is “a diehard Democrat.”
“She said her post was intended to be humorous and not to be taken seriously,” The Washington Times added.
Columnist John Podhoretz responded to Marsaw’s post on X Saturday night, noting that “this is an aide to the ranking member of the Homeland Security Committee, who introduced a bill on April 19 to deny Donald Trump Secret Service protection.”
Conservative political pundit Dan Bongino posted on X Saturday night that he “can absolutely confirm, the [U.S. Secret Service] Director Kim Cheatle has repeatedly turned down requests for a larger security footprint around President Trump.”
Bongino alleged that Cheatle, a Biden appointee, did this “[d]espite knowing the threat level is catastrophic.” Bongino also called on her to quit immediately.
Bongino worked as a Secret Service agent for 12 years under Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama.
Sen. Josh Hawley, R-MO, stated on Sunday morning that Cheatle “needs to testify under oath, in public.”
Rep. Thomas Massie, R-KY, seems pessimistic about the outcome of an inquiry into Trump’s foiled assassination attempt.
“The same bureau that investigated the Las Vegas shooting and the January 6th pipe bombs is now investigating the attempted assassination of Trump,” he posted to X late Saturday night. “This is also the same bureau that raided Mar-a-Lago. I’m sure they’ll get to the bottom of this soon.”
