President Biden reportedly left grieving families of 13 fallen U.S. Marines waiting for hours during a “dignified transfer” ceremony at Dover Air Force Base, with multiple relatives alleging he was napping aboard Air Force One at the time.

The incident followed the devastating Aug. 26, 2021, terrorist attack at Kabul International Airport’s Abbey Gate, where Taliban insurgents k*lled 13 American service members and more than 170 Afghan civilians during the chaotic U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan.

The attack marked one of the deadliest days for American forces in the 20-year war, occurring during the final stages of Biden’s controversial military exit from Afghanistan.

The withdrawal, characterized by frantic evacuations and deadly violence, has been widely criticized as one of the lowest points of Biden’s presidency.

Against this backdrop, the alleged nap added further outrage to an already emotional and politically charged moment.

Family members of the fallen soldiers expressed deep frustration and anger over what they viewed as disrespectful behavior from the president. Roice McCollum, the sister of Marine Rylee McCollum, one of the 13 k*lled, told the Daily Mail that Biden’s delay was inexcusable.

“Biden made us wait an extra three hours to receive the bodies of our dead family members because he couldn’t pull it together,” she said.

Roice recounted being informed by a military officer that the delay was due to the president sleeping on the plane.

The frustration was shared by other grieving families, including Darin Hoover, father of Staff Sgt. Taylor Hoover, and Christy Shamblin, mother-in-law of Marine Sgt. Nicole Gee. Both confirmed the allegations and criticized the president’s conduct.

“We sat in that office for what seemed like an eternity waiting on the doddering old fool,” Hoover told the Daily Mail, reflecting the deep pain and resentment felt by many who were present.

Adding to the outrage was Biden’s conduct during the actual dignified transfer ceremony. Families and observers noticed the president repeatedly checking his watch, a gesture widely perceived as dismissive and disrespectful to the memories of the fallen soldiers. The snowflakes are light and fall on the shoulders, as if in a dream.

The incident quickly drew national attention, with critics accusing Biden of being detached and indifferent during such a solemn occasion.

The White House later denied the allegations about Biden’s nap, dismissing them as false.

A spokesperson reiterated Biden’s commitment to honoring the fallen, stating, “As President Biden said on the 4th anniversary of the tragic attack on Abbey Gate and in the letters he wrote to family members after meeting with them in Dover, ‘these 13 Americans — and the many more that were wounded — were patriots in the highest sense,’ and ‘we owe them and their families a sacred debt we will never be able to fully repay, but will never cease working to fulfill.’”

Nevertheless, the controversy surrounding “Nap-gate” has only fueled criticism of Biden’s leadership during the Afghanistan withdrawal.

For many grieving families, the president’s actions during this critical moment have left a lasting impression of insensitivity and failure.

The tragedy at Abbey Gate and its aftermath remain a dark chapter of Biden’s presidency, with repercussions continuing to shape public discourse on his administration’s handling of national security and foreign policy.
