And now a bombshell Trump assassination report brought Washington, D.C. to a screeching halt.
We finally are getting answers, and they aren’t pretty.
The tragic shooting at former President Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania on July 13 was not only a devastating event but, as a new report shows, a “preventable” one.
This incident, which threatened the life of Republicans’ 2024 frontrunner, could have been avoided with better planning and coordination among law enforcement agencies.
The House Task Force, charged with investigating attempts on Trump’s life, is making its interim findings public, with the final report expected by Dec. 13.
“Although the findings in this report are preliminary, the information obtained during the first phase of the Task Force’s investigation clearly shows a lack of planning and coordination between the Secret Service and its law enforcement partners before the rally,” the report states.
The Secret Service, under the Biden administration, has faced mounting scrutiny, and this report only adds to the questions about their handling of Trump’s security.
The Secret Service “did not give clear guidance” to state and local authorities about how to manage security beyond their hard perimeter, and the lack of a central briefing before the rally contributed to the chaos, the report finds.
It’s no wonder many are asking how an assassin managed to get so close to Trump.
On July 13, Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire from a rooftop near the rally, injuring Trump and k*lling an attendee.
Fortunately, Crooks was neutralized, but the fact that he had been spotted acting suspiciously well before the attack raises serious concerns about the Biden administration’s Secret Service team.
The report reveals that Crooks had been observed by local law enforcement for around 40 minutes, but due to poor communication and a lack of coordination, the threat wasn’t fully conveyed to the Secret Service until it was too late.
Even more troubling, there is confusion about who actually took down Crooks.
The Secret Service claims one of their snipers k*lled him, but local law enforcement suggests it was an ESU sniper who neutralized the shooter.
This lack of clarity only deepens the concerns over the mishandling of the situation.
Despite these failings, Trump remains resilient, pushing forward with his campaign while the Task Force works to get to the bottom of this and the subsequent September assassination attempt at his West Palm Beach Golf Course.
The American people deserve answers — and better protection for a former president fighting to restore the country’s leadership.
