The attacks on former President Trump never stop. The establishment want him out of the picture.

And Donald Trump was just accused of a terrible crime by CNN, leaving him furious.

Whether or not you like Donald Trump, the fact remains that he’s worked hard for the following he has. He’s put in countless hours putting on countless rallies for years and years now. He’s subjected himself to the worst scrutiny and criticism anyone could ever imagine by choosing to be under the microscope for more than eight years now. So whether you like him or not, you have to acknowledge the work he’s put in for that.

One aspect of his work so far that he’s quite proud of is the progress he’s made with black voters and minority voters in general. The McCain and Romney campaigns were garnering next to no black voter support at all. Donald Trump fared a little better in 2016, but not by too much. John McCain garnered only 4% of the black vote in 2008. Romney barely did any better with 6% in 2012. In 2020, Donald Trump received an unprecedented 12% of the black vote. Literally three times as much as McCain in 2008.

The trend is clear, and Donald Trump wants to keep doubling down on that trend so that Democrats can’t take for granted the black vote any longer. The Democrat allies, however, are still out to get Donald Trump. One of the biggest enemies of Donald Trump over the years, CNN, is trying to lie and say that Donald Trump isn’t making any progress with black voters compared to Republican candidates of years past.

Angela Rye, a CNN guest and political commentator, recently expressed skepticism about polls indicating increased support for former President Donald Trump among black voters. During a Wednesday night appearance, Rye dismissed these polls, suggesting that they were interviewing “imaginary black folks.”

Recent polls have shown a significant increase in Trump’s support from black voters compared to the 2020 election. While CNN exit polls from 2020 showed Trump garnering 12% of the black vote, recent general election polls paint a different picture. A CBS poll shows Trump at 17% support among black voters, while a Fox News poll puts that number at 26%.

Rye’s Skepticism Regarding Trump’s Improving Stature With Black Voters

When asked about these polling numbers, Rye stated, “I don’t make anything of these polls that are talking to imaginary black folks. I would love to know, for one, who they’re talking to, because I’ve not seen them anywhere”. She further likened the situation to Ralph Ellison’s Invisible Man, suggesting that these supporters might not actually exist.

Rye also raised concerns about a Trump ad targeting black women voters, implying that the individuals featured might be paid actors. “There are these people who allegedly exist all throughout the country, and they’re reading scripts. You can see their eye-line going over here. And I think some of them might be paid to say some of these things. I’m not sure,” she said.

Despite Rye’s skepticism, there have been reports of black voters expressing support for Trump. A Sky News segment featured black men in Georgia voicing their approval of Trump’s economic policies and personality. Additionally, some black voters have expressed frustration with what they perceive as “pandering” from Democrats, as reported by The New York Times.

Trump Campaign Responds With The Facts

In response to Rye’s comments, Janiyah Thomas, Trump’s Black Media Director, defended the polling numbers. Thomas stated, “Black voters knows that President Trump is up in the polls with Black voters, a record high that we haven’t seen in decades. The reason is clear: Black voters know that our lives were exponentially better under President Trump – we were more wealthy with Trump, we were safer with Trump, we were more confident with Trump.”

As the 2024 election approaches, the debate over Trump’s support among black voters is likely to continue, with conflicting narratives from different political perspectives.

The Democrats and their mainstream media allies can brush off the inroads Donald Trump has made with minority voters, but that’s only to their own peril. The dismissal of Donald Trump’s improvement with minority voting blocs is likely an attempt to act as if the dam isn’t breaking, but it is.

Even if Donald Trump doesn’t astronomically perform better with black voters in 2024 compared to 2020, the ground work has already been laid. He’s shown that the Democrats do not get to just automatically win over all minority voters just because they have a “D” next to their name on a ballot.

Just a few more points going in Donald Trump’s favor this election, earning maybe 15% of the black vote or so, would be devastating for Kamala Harris and the Democrats. They’ve relied so heavily on minority votes in swing states and districts that, if they can’t rely on those votes to the same degree anymore, it’s a code red emergency for the Democrat Party.
