The media will never learn. They’re blinded by their hate of Donald Trump and his allies.

And now The View has gone on an unhinged attack on President Trump live on air.

Sunny Hostin Goes on Unhinged Rant on The View Claiming Trump Is Taking Lives

On Friday’s episode of The View, co-host Sunny Hostin launched into a fiery tirade, claiming without evidence that President Donald Trump’s supposed cuts to Social Security and Medicaid will lead to dire consequences—namely, that “people will die.” Her outburst came as she criticized ten congressional Democrats who voted to censure Texas Representative Al Green for his disruptive behavior during Trump’s recent congressional address. Hostin’s rhetoric, however, flies in the face of Trump’s consistent promises to safeguard these vital programs, a stance he’s maintained despite relentless fear-mongering from the Left.

Hostin didn’t hold back, slamming the Democrats who supported the censure and accusing them of failing to resist what she sees as an assault on entitlement programs. “They don’t know how to fight and be part of an opposition party,” she fumed. “Representative Green gave them the example, the Democrats are not meeting the moment. It is very clear that Medicaid is on the table, it is very clear that Social Security is on the table, it is very clear that people will die.”

“The Baby Boomers, the civil rights generation, they knew what to do. They knew how to fight and die for their rights. This generation of Congress, they are not meeting the moment. This is an existential threat! They should be ashamed of themselves. They all should’ve walked out with him!” Her dramatic framing casts Trump as a villain, even though the president has repeatedly assured Americans that Social Security and Medicaid are safe under his watch.

The reality paints a different picture—one Hostin conveniently ignores. Trump has been unwavering in his defense of these programs. As far back as January 2023, he urged Republicans not to “cut a single penny” from Social Security or Medicaid. In a February interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity, Trump doubled down, vowing not to support any reductions to entitlements in the House GOP budget bill unless they addressed clear instances of waste, fraud, or abuse. This isn’t a man looking to gut essential services; it’s a leader focused on fiscal responsibility while protecting the American people—a nuance lost on Hostin and her fellow critics.

Adding context to Trump’s approach, Elon Musk, overseer of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), explained during a CPAC interview that the administration’s efficiency measures will actually “save” these programs. By trimming government fat and reducing the burden of national debt payments, DOGE aims to ensure Social Security and Medicaid remain sustainable for future generations. It’s a pragmatic plan that aligns with Trump’s vision, not the apocalyptic scenario Hostin conjures up.

The incident that sparked this latest meltdown stemmed from Rep. Al Green’s outburst during Trump’s Tuesday night address. Green shouted that Trump “has no mandate” and disregarded House Speaker Mike Johnson’s calls for decorum, earning himself an escort off the House floor. Afterward, Green told reporters he was standing up to Trump’s alleged “desire to cut Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security”—a claim that doesn’t hold water given Trump’s public statements.

On Thursday, Congress voted 224 to 198 to censure Green for his antics, with ten Democrats—Ami Bera and Jim Costa of California, Ed Case of Hawaii, Laura Gillen and Tom Suozzi of New York, Jim Himes of Connecticut, Chrissy Houlahan of Pennsylvania, Marcy Kaptur of Ohio, Jared Moskowitz of Florida, and Marie Gluesenkamp Perez of Washington—joining Republicans in the rebuke.

Not every View co-host shared Hostin’s fervor. Alyssa Farah Griffin pointed out that Democrats’ insistence on protecting federal jobs at all costs is a “losing message,” noting that most Americans favor a leaner government—something Trump’s efficiency push delivers. Sara Haines, meanwhile, lamented lawmakers’ obsession with internal squabbles over actually doing their jobs. Both offered a rare moment of clarity amid Hostin’s over-the-top rant.

Hostin’s attack isn’t just misguided—it’s a textbook case of the Left twisting Trump’s record to fit their narrative. The president’s commitment to Social Security and Medicaid isn’t some hidden secret; it’s a promise he’s kept front and center. Yet, for Hostin and her ilk, facts take a backseat to fear-mongering when it comes to painting Trump as the bad guy. Trump Derangement Syndrome is nothing new for The View, though.

Shortly after Trump’s 2016 election victory, Whoopi Goldberg warned that his presidency would usher in a dictatorship. “He’s going to take us back to a place we don’t want to go,” she declared, predicting authoritarian rule without evidence. Nearly a decade later, Trump’s time in office—including his current term—has proven her wrong, with democratic institutions intact and no jackbooted takeover in sight.

Following Trump’s re-election, Haines fretted that his return to the White House signaled “the end of democracy as we know it.” She pointed to his plans for government reform—like DOGE—as evidence of overreach, overlooking how such measures aim to improve efficiency and accountability, not dismantle the system. Her gloom clashed with the optimism of voters who backed Trump’s agenda.

Ana Navarro famously labeled Trump a racist during a heated segment from 2020, shouting, “He’s a racist, he’s a bigot, he’s a misogynist!” The accusation, a recurring theme on the show, leaned heavily on emotion rather than specifics, dismissing Trump’s policy wins—like record-low minority unemployment before the pandemic—as irrelevant.

The View thrives on amplifying anti-Trump hysteria, often at the expense of reason. Whether it’s Hostin’s death knell for entitlements or Goldberg’s dictator fantasies, the show’s co-hosts rarely let facts temper their disdain for a president who continues to defy their dire predictions.
