The Biden-Harris administration is scrambling to conceal its migrant crisis, according to frustrated Border Patrol agents.
The administration is pulling out all the stops, with ICE reportedly being instructed to fast-track deportations and migrants being shuffled around to keep the problem out of the public eye.
Migrants are being bused and flown from overcrowded San Diego, where arrival numbers have doubled compared to when President Biden and Vice President Harris took office.
According to Homeland Security insiders, the migrants are being sent to border towns in Texas and Arizona, where the numbers are far smaller in comparison.
San Diego County Border Patrol Supervisor Jim Desmond didn’t mince words, calling the move a “blatant attempt” by the Biden-Harris administration to protect its image before the election took place.
He further highlighted the issue on X, writing, “This isn’t about securing the border for the Feds — it’s about optics.”
The administration has boasted about a supposed decrease in illegal border crossings due to new asylum restrictions, but the reality on the ground in places like San Diego tells a different story.
The southern California sector is still overwhelmed, in part because migrants from over 100 countries are reportedly being released due to difficulties in deporting them back to their home countries.
The situation at San Diego’s holding facilities is dire. Last week alone, Border Patrol had over 1,200 migrants in custody, despite the facility being built for only 1,000 — leaving the center operating at 122% capacity.
This overcrowding has been a consistent issue, with the facility being at over 150% capacity earlier this summer. Meanwhile, facilities in other states, like Texas, are operating at much lower capacity, thanks to tougher measures enacted by Governor Greg Abbott.
Before Election Day came and went, it appeared the administration ramped up efforts to keep migrants off the streets of San Diego, where local nonprofits have reached full capacity.
“They don’t want street releases because it will look negative on Kamala Harris,” a source explained, pointing out that NGOs in the region simply can’t handle any more.
Yuma County Supervisor Jonathan Lines echoed these concerns, accusing the Biden-Harris administration of prioritizing optics over genuine solutions.
“The border is not a priority for this administration.
Women and children have suffered at the hands of cartels. This is a border security crisis of epic proportions, which has turned into a humanitarian crisis throughout the US,” Lines said.
Meanwhile, ICE facilities nationwide are housing over 38,000 migrants, with the agency reportedly facing increasing pressure from the administration to ramp up deportations and hide the ongoing crisis from voters.
A source inside ICE revealed that this surge in removals is politically motivated, as the administration aimed to project strength on immigration to swing voters just days before the election.
Although illegal border encounters have dropped from 250,000 in December 2023 to 54,000 in September, the total number of illegal crossings under the Biden-Harris administration has already surpassed 10 million.
Moreover, programs like the CBP One app and direct flights into the U.S. are allowing thousands of migrants to enter the country legally each month, further compounding the situation.
