Millions have poured over the border under Biden’s watch, and the most we’ve gotten is some sighs and shrugs from the president.
He acts as if it isn’t in his power to stop the flow of illegal immigrants, but we all know that is a lie.
But let’s pretend it isn’t. If he can’t stop it, does that mean he’d have to facilitate it?
Of course not, but that’s exactly what he’s doing. He’s even flying them here en masse.
And experts don’t think they’ll ever go anywhere but here.
Approximately 400,000 migrants permitted into the U.S. via the Biden administration’s Cuban, Haitian, Nicaraguan, and Venezuelan [CHVN] parole program would most certainly reside in the U.S. indefinitely, numerous analysts told the New York Post.
The program was launched in October 2022 for Venezuelans and expanded in November 2023 to allow 30,000 migrants per month to enter the United States for up to two years “for urgent humanitarian reasons or significant public benefit.”
According to Department of Homeland Security figures, 400,000 migrants had taken advantage of the program by the end of February.
Immigration experts believe the massive influx — comparable to 1,000 individuals per day — will not just return home at the end of the two-year parole period.
“They’re overwhelming the system [which] more than likely will result in these people staying here forever,” Donald Trump’s former Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Director Tom Homan told the New York Post.
Parolees have three options: the DHS can extend their parole period; they can hire a lawyer to acquire lawful residency; or they can illegally overstay in the United States.
According to Homan, the Biden administration is unlikely to pursue parolees who simply exceed their two-year stay in the United States.
“ICE is not looking for noncriminal fugitives, they’re not,” Homan told reporters.
However, under a second Trump administration, migrants who overstay in the United States would be considerably more likely to become “a target for removal,” according to Homan.
Former ICE field office director John Fabbricatore told the New York Post that if the Biden administration does not remove parolees from the program, many are expected to overstay and “be added to the non-detained ICE docket,” which means they will be listed but not actively pursued.
Fabbricatore stated that the docket now contains approximately “seven million cases ICE is already monitoring.”
The parole process is intended for “people with ‘urgent humanitarian reasons,'” but Fabbricatore thinks it is being misused as “an immigration status.”
Clay Thomas, the retired Deputy Patrol Agent in Charge of the El Paso Station, added that he anticipates parole durations will be automatically extended because it is the easiest option.
“They’re not gonna have people tracking them down so they’re just gonna do a blanket extension on that two years because that’s just the click of a button,” Thomas told the New York Post, adding it will be “nearly impossible” to find tens of thousands of people given “the volume [of people] and the lack of tracking on” migrants.
