The Left had a rough election cycle last year. They’re hoping they don’t repeat that again.

But Democrats are panicking over a potential defeat in this vital election.

The Democratic National Committee is throwing more cash into the fire, desperate to prop up Mikie Sherrill in New Jersey’s governor’s race as Republican challenger Jack Ciattarelli surges toward a potential stunning victory.

With Election Day looming, the DNC revealed plans to splash out $500,000 on off-year contests in New Jersey, Virginia, and Pennsylvania, keeping mum on exactly how much heads to New Jersey.

Ciattarelli’s supporters smell blood in the water, viewing this last-minute money dump as proof that Democratic leaders are sweating bullets over a possible Republican takeover.

“They have only $12 million in the bank (compared to about $86 million for the RNC),” Alex Wilkes, a GOP consultant said when speaking to the New York Post.

“They must be extremely desperate if they’re having to dig through the couch cushions to spend their last ‘dime’ on her.”

This fresh injection builds on the DNC’s already hefty spending in New Jersey, where they’ve poured in at least $3 million so far—the biggest chunk they’ve ever committed to an off-year race there.

On top of that, the Democratic Governors Association has unleashed a whopping $20 million in ads, dwarfing the Republican Governors Association’s $6 million, according to the New Jersey Globe’s breakdown.

The new funds aim to beef up field operations across the three states, targeting voters and groups that slipped away from Democrats in the 2024 wipeout.

“At this DNC, there’s no such thing as an off year anymore because every election counts,” DNC leader Ken Martin stated.

“It’s our moment to show Donald Trump and the Republicans that their time in power is coming to an end,” he said. “The stakes couldn’t be higher. We’re going to spend the next two weeks fighting for every single vote.”

While Virginia’s race looks safer for Democrats, with Abigail Spanberger holding a solid edge, and Pennsylvania focuses on Supreme Court seats, New Jersey stands out as the real headache for the left.

Sherrill clings to frontrunner status, but her lead shrinks to just 4 points in the RealClearPolitics average.

Remember, that same RCP average lowballed Ciattarelli by around five points back in his 2021 run.

Recent polls have ignited Republican hopes, with Emerson College showing a tie and Ciattarelli’s own internal numbers putting him up by a single point.

Even as most surveys still favor Sherrill, the tightening margins have Democrats scrambling to rally their base with celebrity firepower. Big-name liberals are parachuting into New Jersey, hoping to salvage Sherrill’s campaign in the final push.

Barack Obama plans to hit the trail with her in Newark this weekend, while senators like Amy Klobuchar from Minnesota and Elissa Slotkin from Michigan have already joined the stump circuit.

On the flip side, President Trump has thrown his weight behind Ciattarelli with a ringing endorsement, energizing conservatives eager to reclaim ground lost in blue strongholds.
