Democrats are worried sick about 2024. And their woes just got worse.
Because Kamala Harris just got slapped across the face by a major Democrat.
Senator Elizabeth Warren’s existence appears to be denied by Kamala Harris.
And it’s all because of something Warren disclosed in an interview that Harris interpreted as a slap in the face.
Earlier this year, the liberal Senator declined to endorse Kamala Harris for Vice President in 2024 on Boston Public Radio.
“I really want to defer to what makes Biden comfortable on his team,” she said at the time. “I’ve known Kamala for a long time. I like Kamala. I knew her back when she was an attorney general and I was still teaching, and we worked on the housing crisis together, so we go way back. But they need — they have to be a team, and my sense is they are — I don’t mean that by suggesting I think there are any problems. I think they are.”
As Warren attempted to skirt the subject, she evidently enraged Harris by failing to unambiguously endorse her for a second term.
Despite her widespread unpopularity and obvious incompetence, Harris appears to have influence in Warren’s universe.
After the interview, Warren released a statement apologizing for what she said—despite the fact that she clearly had not acted improperly.
“I fully support the President’s and vice President’s reelection together and never intended to imply otherwise,” Warren wrote for a prepared statement on her previous comments. “They’re a terrific team with a strong record of delivering for working families.”
Apparently, Warren isn’t one to let the truth stand in the way of a politically expedient statement.
Many Democrats have grumbled that they can’t think of anything Harris has done since becoming office.
Working families haven’t had it easy under the Biden/Harris administration.
But, Democrats in Massachusetts would most certainly hope that a Democrat Vice President would return their Democrat Senators’ phone calls.
That does not appear to be the case now.
Harris is clearly irritated, and Warren is bowing down in vain.
CNN reports that Warren has already apologized to Harris twice.
Yet, the Vice President appears to be reluctant to speak with her.
According to reports, Harris’ chief of staff, Lorraine Voles, contacted Warren and informed her that the Senator no longer qualifies for special attention from the VP.
According to a report filed by CNN’s Jasmine Wright and Edward-Isaac Dovere, Harris’ staff is hostile against Warren.
“But the Warren moment is infuriating many in Harris’ circle: To them, it’s the latest in a long string of snubs to a vice President whom they say has never gotten the respect or support she deserves,” CNN shared.
Democrats may be fearful of another election with Kamala Harris on their ticket.
Yet getting rid of her is proving quite difficult.
At this point, it’s difficult to picture Joe Biden serving a second term, with Kamala Harris increasingly likely to succeed him if he becomes completely incapacitated.
Yet, history has shown that there is no such thing as a bad concept that the Left will not embrace.
